Newcastle want more tickets

I'd say put a team of kids out so they can't gloat if they win.....but that won't stop them.

We all know the irritating twats will count it as a proper game if they win and dismiss it as nowt if they lose. It's par for the course and an integral part of why everyone hates them.
It’s more of a proper game than any between the first teams......for that vary reason.

The mags won’t be in our end, but I have huge doubts about the policing.

A few years ago, the cowards were jumping off Metros and punching granddads before running back on the trains to a chorus of cheers from the other softcocks. I fully expect there to be hell on across the metro system and a lot of innocent people - who are probably just traveling home from work - will be caught up in it.

At best, I think we will sell 15,000 tickets
Knows ^

It'll still be our first tezm and their U21s. Its a free hit for them. The competition is a joke.

They can field 4 first teamers- given those players will be worth more than our first team- we are getting a free hit here- we are a lowly team playing 2 divisions below- when we beat them again it will hurt like fck

Most of the fuckers will have never been to a match in their life. This is just an 'event' they can big up and make up stories for ever and a day ! How we did this, did that, had them on the run, took the piss, blah blah blah

I remember watching a dickhead jump off the metro. Throw haymakers into a crowd. Throw his hands up in classic rocky pose then get smashed in the face with a traffic cone.

What a dickhead he was, he got what he deserved really though I dont normally condone violence
:lol::lol::lol:
I really wish there was a video of this.

Could I put a Mag perspective?
You have to admit the game is a curiosity, however I accept there will be plenty loons from both sides attending!
To say we are obsessed is possibly a little off, there is equal obsession from both sides - why have a thread about it if the obsession is one way!
I go to most NUFC away games and plenty I know are going, some are of course excitable some normal
I attending but my reasons are different - I have a relative on the books at Sunderland - obviously I want him to do well!
Hopefully the game will pass without incident

You want 5 times the amount of tickets you sold for the last leg at your shit hole, but ya not obsessed with little old 6 in a row S'land?

Here's my totally biased view on the situation.
Given that the demand for tickets from the mags has greatly exceeded their home attendance for the last round of the competition I think it's safe to assume that a sizeable percentage of their support will be coming through to try and give it the big 'un and claim some kind of "result " from this. As in days gone by the majority of these will just be gobby teenagers jumping up and down behind a line of coppers ( hold me back or I'll kill someone syndrome ). What worries me however is that a certain amount of violence will occur and someone may be seriously injured or even worse. I can almost guarantee that damage will be caused to the stadium ( they have a history relating to this ) . The Newcastle united based media will have a field day and any of the good work done by our new owners so far will be undone overnight. More tickets for them = more policing, more violence , more damage to the stadium and surrounding areas and more chance of bad publicity.
It's a no brainer man.

If Newcastle get their 5000 then I imagine our fans would respond and start buying tickets. I'm not sure whether this is a good or bad thing.

I take the Checkatrade seriously because I know that our fans would absolutely make the most of any day at Wembley. And generally I don't mind the concept of having PL U23s in the competition.

It's just that this match has feels weird... There is no glory in beating an U23 team really, yet we are L1 and will have to go full strength to progress.

Best thing would be to pack the ground and see a good, clean, competitive match that we win by a goal. No bother on or off the field.

.. Not sure it will work out that way .. I'm considering taking the youngin. If they are given 5000 tickets, I certainly won't be doing that, and may not bother going myself ..

.. Would be a massive publicity fail, looking like a Judas moment imo ..

I said it from the moment the draw happened. The new owners have done some great things since taking over. However I’m going to call it naivety and they have dropped a bollock with this one I’m afraid.

I’m not obsessed same as I didn’t gloat when we were unbeaten from 1980 to 2008 on Wearside! Given what both clubs have had as owners in last few years it really is 2 bald blokes fighting over a comb!
And yes 5 times the tickets is simply because of its you and us! However my reasons for coming are different as I pointed out

Not surprising given that you lost the biggest derby in the history of the clubs during that time.
