What are parents doing that will vast swathes of kids in certain areas are suddenly gonna switch allegiance to the Mags?

Surely no self respecting SAFC fan would have a Newcastle supporting kid? Get them to the match and get them stuck for life (I’m advocating child abuse here mind!) - it’s not a choice!

It happened in the 1990’s though. If your parent isn’t a football fan why the fuck would you choose us over a top 7 club.

What about fans from Yorkshire, Northumberland or the boarders, you’re going to choose to support them over your other alternatives

like i said we dont need fans like that anyway, that would turn like that

The big worry is if they follow the Man city way they will invest massively in facilities and academy that’s going to have a detrimental impact.
If they invest to Man City levels or even Everton levels they are going to improve massively and large pockets of the region will turn black and white.
They might even do well and win something.

what does it matter, they get 52k, the ground only holds 52k, wheres all these extra fans goin to sit

If this does all go through and they do suddenly start to compete with the top 6 then we’d have to differentiate ourselves to attract support.

Methven at least talks a good game in this respect. Things like improving and enhancing the match day experience, marketing ourselves as a family club etc.

At the end of the day people will put up with being told to drink pissy fosters through a sweaty sock from the concourse bars at a tenner a pint rather than go to the club over the road pouring Dom perignon over the pertest titties known to man if the team on the pitch is 3 leagues above and swashbuckling its way round Europe

Be a f***ing clamour for tickets if they drew us in the cup like

Did it? Do a lot of kids become avid fans when their parents have no interest or is that a bit of a minority?

Does it even matter anymore? In terms of finances numbers through the gates are a drop in the ocean compared to the TV revenues (in any league above our current one) so is it purely an issue for attendance bragging rights?

Is there not some sort of regulation in place whereby two members of the same family can't own two clubs in the same league? If there's not there needs to be!
