Newcastle Manager Situation

Success is all relative.
Rafas success at Valencia does trump anything Sam has done admittedly as does his champions league triumph at Liverpool but league form wise other than Valencia he's underachieved really. Spent a fortune at liverpool and didn't really get close. Rodgers got lot closer. Took over the champions in Italy and couldn't replicate it. Napoli he didn't come close either despite a big spend. Difficult to judge Real as managers come and go like buses there. Allardyce has pretty much achieved the maximum he could have in all his jobs as far as league position goes and has no real failures on his CV.
Big Sam has suffered from being English more than anything. We've had Keane, Bruce, oneil, di canio, Poyet and advicaat and with exception of Poyet he's been no more route one than any of others yet this label followed him around and as a consequence he doesn't get credit he deserves.

People aren't looking at the success he had at Valencia in the correct context ... Valencia were a f***ing awesome team back then , sure they look at Valencia and think the squad was similar to the one they have now or something.

4 points behind in 09 Rodgers was closer than that and with 3 to go Liverpool were favourites.
Sam didn't chuck games against big teams when at Bolton as his modus operandi became different as time went on and they be and a genuine top 8 side. Then came the mags and the ridiculous sacking when 11th. Blackburn I'm sure they finished tenth one year having looked knackered when us took over then again was ridiculously sacked by a lunatic owner. West Ham he done as much as his could for me but their fans delusions of grandeur are pathetic.
Given the right resources I think Sam could've made a fist of it with the right club but he's never had that luxury. Instead we see managers like AVB, Ramos, Scolari, Pellegrini, Santini given the big gigs when there CVs aren't that special when scrutinised . Yes big Phil won World Cup but big difference in international management compared to club.

another valid point Benitez got a chance that Sam never did

Benitez got a Champions league finalist job after a season managing in the second tier!

I would have thought he would of have a smile a mile wide. I know I would if I had bluffed my way in a job for 9 months then got a 2M pay off .

I seem to recall dippers' I know complaining that he used players, ruled with a rod of iron and had little/no empathy with them, ie, imho, the complete antithesis of BSA. I think Sam's approach is more suited to management in this day and age tbh. I think RB's authoritarian approach has had its day. I hope. Time will tell.

Just found out tufty got the sack. Gutted isn't in it, don't know if I'll ever get over it. Hurts a bit less knowing they've hired manuel off fawlty towers.

It's @cheeses of nazereth I feel sorry for all those Photoshops man, needs to get working on some waiter ones now
I'm sure he's over the moon. New subject matter, more opportunity so for hilarious character assassination, and brutal pisstaking. Can't beat a nice bit of cheeses.

FAT SPANISH WAITER

HE'S JUST A FAT SPANISH WAITER

FAT SPANISH WAAAAAIIIIITTTTEEERRRRRRRRRRRRR
That's got legs like. Can't see the waiter bit lasting long before its changed to something else though.

Best decision the club has made for about 15 years. Proper manager compared to the absolute shite who have been there previously. No guarantee of anything and it could all go pear shaped quickly but at least we have a shot at it now.

Luck will still play a part somewhere. That and the players attitudes. We've proven that the last few year. Shite players who show a little bit of graft and belief. It's ok all of us speculating but if the players don't show the fight or a ref drops a bollock, it changes everything. That goes for both sides btw.

Agree. The lazy wankers are still going to have to pull their fingers out and raise their levels of effort and desire but at least it's possible they respect the guy and respond. We'll just have to wait and see.

Whether or not Newcastle go down or not he won't be there long imo.
