Newcastle Manager Situation

Boost who? He's not the type of manager to walk into the dressing room and the players instantly give that extra 25% and think I want to play for you.
But McClaren being sacked possibly is.

It's not just new manager bounce, it's sacked manager bounce if anything that affects players more. It happens quite a lot but then many teams fade off again after a few games if players lose the euphoria of a shit/disliked manager leaving as the new one can't maintain it. It not only happens in football, it happens in other businesses surely as I've experienced it twice, once on a production line and once in the offices when a team leader/manager leaves and you suddenly feel so relieved and willing to put a bit more effort in again.

Chelsea showed it this season as they changed as soon as Mourihno was gone. Obviously Hiddink is a manager who could maintain the level of morale, mentality etc in players along with decisions he makes and they're unbeaten since then. Newcastle don't have the calibre of Chelsea players but they have shown signs of a decent team when they can be arsed and Rafa as a new manager is an improvement over a defeated McClaren.

As I said, they could bring in Whey Aye Man as a manager and the Mags will still put more of an effort against Leicester and us than they would if McClaren was still there. It's then what if Rafa does keep that morale, mentality, increased work rate etc positive (which he will be capable of) for the rest of the season that is a possible concern. Yet some are saying he failed here, there etc so will fuck up at the Mags. It's impossible to know what will happen but to write him off already is just f***ing stupid and head in the sand opinion.

We'd wank ourselves silly if Benitez was coming here.

This changes nothing we still have the get the results, can't just rely on Newcastle and Norwich.

I don't mind admitting that the change in management has made our chances of stopping up look much harder imo.

The have Villa away which in itself should be a guaranteed 3 points for everyone who plays them. Still haven't given up hope or owt but it would have been much better if McClaren had stayed on.

TBH mate, the very last thing those players need is more 'visions, tactics & theories'.

They looked so confused against Bournemouth even Shearer was shaking his head.

Benitez will be speaking as if the players are Real Madrid when it's the likes of Taylor, Mitrovic & Colback.

I truly believe he'll make matters worse.

Thank you.

Now, how about supplying some names to back up your claim that "some of our fans who were clamouring for Benitez when Di Canio left, suddenly "don't rate him" when hes linked to the mags", if you don't mind.

Don't even have to go back that far, he's a thread from less then 12 months ago !

Some from after Bruce left

Just looking for the Di Canio thread

Exactly. You'd think he was taking over a team who had world class players. We have shown how hard it is this season, Big Sam struggled until January before he could improve the team. The results speak for themselves after that, 4 wins, 3 draws 3 losses. Benitez doesn't have that luxury, he has what he has .... no goalscorer and a limited defence.
But plenty of cash in the back pocket.

That is a wonderful scenario you have painted there mate. I'm converted. :)
