Newcastle Manager Situation

Just walked past the terminal from the Long stay car park to the doubletree, must be at least 20 people in the arrivals hall with Newcastle tops on expecting something
That's normal attire at the airport, wearing tha toon tops to gan on tha hurldas or pickin tha muthas up when thav been humpin on tha hurldas with dougie from Manchester!

But he's not going in to win a trophy is he? His league record is pretty average in the last decade, especially considering the players he's managed.
He certainly won't this year but he's good at cup competitions apparently so he might win them a cup in the coming years. Has he got the job?

Interesting to read Shelvey's quotes, seems he has some support amongst the players at least:

He said: “It’s obviously a sticky situation and Steve is at the forefront of it —which he doesn’t deserve, to be honest.
“But it is what it is.
"It’s nice to know what Steve thinks of me, and I think a lot of him also. We’ve got to play for him while he’s still in charge and hopefully he stays in charge. You can never believe something until it has happened."

The mags will be trying to play to impress, while playing a fixture that they will be shitting themselves over, infront of 1 million and 1 geordies who will be booing every shit play they do....

There's another thread on this subject over 100 pages long. Shouldn't this be merged with it, mods?

On paper the managers they've been linked with are better than McClaren bit none have any experience of grinding out results at the wrong end of the premier league. Benitez, Moyes and Roger's have all been sacked for failing recently.

Harry Redknapp would be a better but short term choice to get a tune out of a poor squad
