Newcastle Manager Situation

I'm no less and no more worried either way. They could turn it on a bit for a new manager of course but they seem a mess front and back and with a poor team ethic. I'm not convinced that's all Tufty's issue. It's possible they could win more than us and stay up of course or vice versa. Benitez is far from being a sure bet in a relegation battle. Who knows. It doesn't rattle me or make me confident. Christ knows why this thread got so far (though I just made it worse I guess)

Just a bit of fun and light relief after all the other stuff for me I think

How could it be mate ....... he took over a squad that avoided relegation on the last day the previous season.

Then was given Thauvin & Mitrovic for £27 million

Despite what the 'just wait til they click' brigade keep saying ....... they're not very good.

Only given 4 months at Inter
Good job at Chelsea
One Italian cup finishing 3rd and 5th at Napoli. Good record at a club who despite getting good crowds are rarely successful.
Of course as @RichD said he was crap at Real Madrid for not winning a trophy between August 2015 and January 2016.

I take it all back he's a fuckin genius..Madrid were stupid to sack him and replace him with a man with no experience what so ever...and I'm sure he'll get the best out of colback and co..as he did with Bale, Ronaldo and the rest...

Napoli's history is pretty irrelevant though, they had and still have a very good squad. He underperformed, in typical Benitez style they went backwards in the league so he could win a cup.

Madrid he should never have got the job and was always going to last 2 minutes.

Chelsea is a tough one, he won the Europa league with a squad than won the champions league a year before...

He's got an excellent cup record, but his league performances have been shit for about 8 years.
At Chelsea he inherited a squad that had been knocked out of the CL at the group stage.
So you agree he was blameless for Real not winning a trophy between summer 2015 and January 2016 ?
I find it odd that many on here don't rate him when they would of being ecstatic if he came when Poyet was sacked.

No you were right, not winning a trophy at Real between summer 2015 and January 2016 is woeful. I hope the mags get him, I can guarantee he'll end up trophy less there come May.

Just walked past the terminal from the Long stay car park to the doubletree, must be at least 20 people in the arrivals hall with Newcastle tops on expecting something

This. Shit up front. Shit players (and terrible leaders) at the back. A very talented but disjointed and dysfunctional midfield who don't work hard enough and a lack of cutting edge up front. I'm not at all convinced it's the manager (though his interviews are far from convincing) I think more the overall strategy of the club ( much like ours till Sam came tbh).

Of course I don't blame Benitez for not winning a trophy at Madrid. But he wasn't exactly great, more less 5 points off top and just lost 4-0 at home.

He did okay at Chelsea, awful at inter and below par at Napoli.
