Ashley's short term appointments have been worse than his long term ones. Unless he has a massive change in how he wants the club run, I can't see where he would turn.

SKY SPORTS SOURCES LATEST BREAKING NEWS:

Newcastle manager Steve McClaren set to receive news from Mike Ashley tomorrow, Monday 6th.

Our sources tell us that Ashley has been impressed with how composed Steve is in his interviews despite losing and that he is happy to see Steve can keep a positive manor at the worst of times.

We have heard Steve is set to be offered a brand new 8 year contract with a further 4 years optional extension provided he brings them the champions league winners medals within the next 2 years.

He has also offered to bring Jose Mourinho in as his assistant manager should he keep Newcastle up this season.
Erm, It's the 6th today and it's Sunday anar it's shite!

All this talk of Moyes and Benitez. As if they'd risk their reputations on a 10 game survival bid. Also, Ashely hates the mags so much that he'd probably appoint McLeish, Sherwood or Clement (he does like a sacked Derby manager)

Leicester beat them next week, Tufty goes, Shearer comes in, we beat them 3-0 in the Derby, Shearer takes them down for the 2nd time and we stay up at their expense!

If Carlsberg did season endings!

This week has been huge. Swansea, Bournemouth and WBA all pulling away and us chucking away 4 points. We could have been (almost) clear of the scrap..... Then again, this is Sunderland and we never do things the easy way
