Newcastle Manager Situation

Why is everyone on here ignoring the possibility of us getting 3/4 wins plus draws from last nine ???
It's possible we will get something from home games v arsenal and Chelsea if we play to our max.
Long way to go still and 27 points up for grabs.
Apparently we are going to lose all of our games and somehow a new manager means a shite Newcastle side win there games.

That's my hope too, and if it does turn out that way it must surely be more damaging, because the then the players will know they are playing for a manger who is only there because there was no willing replacement.
That on top of the fact they are denying knowing about the statement that was put out saying they supported Maclaren before the game on Saturday
Have there been any Mag player rallying calls?

This week has been huge. Swansea, Bournemouth and WBA all pulling away and us chucking away 4 points. We could have been (almost) clear of the scrap..... Then again, this is Sunderland and we never do things the easy way

Cheer up man, out of the bottom 3, do you think the mags will stay up?

Not one single one, there was a statement put out on Saturday where the players said they supported Tufty, the purpose of it was to contradict the spat with the journalist on Friday.
It's subsequently been reported that the players didn't have a clue about the statement

Moyes was at the SAFC/CPFC last week with the Palace chairman, I reckon he will end up replacing Pardeaux.

That's the delay I reckon, nobody wants to work with ashley
If that's the case, then the fans have to take the blame for creating the impression he is a terrible owner. He's no better or worse than most owners of premier league clubs, imo.

Surely the lack of them just shows their heart isn't in it to play for McClaren?

Did you read the match thread yet? I've copied and pasted my post for the links again ;)

If you've got time have a read through the thread as you won't believe some of the comments and I thought this place had a fair few doom mongers but that thread makes ours look like f***ing happy clappers!

Read the posts after the goals as some are chuffed when they concede and gutted when the pull one back as they don't want the draw!

The players publicly backed the manager before the Bournemouth game

Makes the players look like f***ing idiots this mind

did they back him tho, or was that more spin & a nufc released statement. talked about on talk sport if that was real & publish by media partner.

Just read them, you see call me naive or old fashioned but I could never in a million years want my team to lose to get rid of a manager. Or for any other reason relating to the club itself, like getting rid of the owner.
What if they'd won on Sat, then lost to Leicester and he'd gone after that, the 3 points against Bournemouth could still have been massive.

Tbh, any half decent manager will get more out of those players than SM has.
Whether it will be enough for them to get 12 points is a moot point.

I'm not necessarily worried about any particular manager taking over.

I'm worried only about a new manager boost. At this stage of the season with the margins so tight, and us struggling to pull away from them despite them being toxic, any short term boost would likely be enough for them.

We've had Di Canio, Dick Advocaat and Poyet in same position and although none of them turned out to be anything remotely like fantastic managers, all managed to save us.

Sounds obvious but we have to match and exceed anything they do so our players really do have to raise their game even further in the run in.

They don't - never have, never will !!
Agreed footballing myth.

If he is still there for the derby, do you think they will want to lose that to get rid of him?

Moyes is a good long term target.

Not short term in the situation they are in now... They would need a Paolo di Canio or someone even more crazy to spark some life in to them.

I'm not too sure about that . They have a couple of good individuals with individual being the decisive word . Shelvey for eg is a player that is an individual , he has something about him but lacks team spirit . Swansea have done good business there and just look at how well they have done since he went . He hadn't been missed and looks like his influence may have been a reason why they were struggling .

It looks like he's staying for now:

And he has got the answer to Newcastle's woes - more finger wagging!

He can wag as many fingers as he likes as long as he's there on derby day.
