There's a difference between hoping the new owner will be better and assuming he will.

Donald was regarded with great suspicion when he took over and still is by some.

You won't really know how good or bad Ashley was until he's gone, a bit like Pardew and Benitez.
:lol::lol: wallop

He's blocked me on Twitter so I can't give him my feedback on that article. Like most mag bellends, he probably reads this forum.

Hi Simon,

Your latest article was the most nauseating, hoop-rimming, steaming piece of shite I've ever read. There's people in asylums writing on walls with their own shit that are more eloquent than your article and more sane than yourself..

Give up your day job, you utter tragic cocksplat
Don't hold back marra

He oversaw 2 relegations in 8 seasons. Thats the worst in the club history. Its a high bar against which to judge any successors in terms of being bad.

Got through about 3 paragraphs. That was f***ing nauseating

Your comments on this thread have had me howling.

It's only bad, on Short, if you believe there was anything malicious or underhand, which is how Newcastle supporters appear to view Ashley.

I fully get why a lot are very suspect still of Donald although he’s making the right noises early doors.

If Ashley goes tomorrow, he’ll be very much looked upon the same as Short is, some will appreciate all he done whilst others will look back in animosity. Unless you’ve been an unparalleled success / disaster as a player, manager or owner then opinions will always be divided.

Luke Edwards was on talksport before, reckons he knew about this last week
Aye righto mate

Like most of the ITK's on here who 'can't reveal their sources' or 'can't post anything in advance'.

FFS, can't post in advance ..... only when we've just read it on the internet

Well I knew a long, long time ago but was sworn to secrecy. After all my newsagent is really close to action and he would stop delivering the Seaham Weekly News if I had told anyone. I am not scared - well a bit maybe...

'Match mode' - Engaging in a discussion about Newcastle United when the Sunderland first team are currently on the pitch.

Newcastle supporters are driven to continually claim Ashley doesn't really want to sell.

The alternative is to accept that the club isn't actually that attractive to serious buyers.

They believe that, without Ashley, they'd have been another Man City.

Others believe that, without Ashley, they'd have been another Blackburn.

I'll laugh my knackers off if the first act, of a new buyer, is to sack Benitez
Let's face it, if Benitez is given money he'll largely spunk it on shite. I hope he stays.
