Fuck the mags into a cocked hat, obviously. However, the point about modern football rings true for me. When we make our way back to the top league I hope that the majority of our fan base have recalibrated on the things that Safc need to do to be successful.

As a young boy i was in the Clockstand paddock one year a long long time ago on Derby day.
An old bloke turned to me and said 'Canny allotment in the Roker youngin '
' Eh? ' i replied innocently as i glanced to me right.

'Its full of vegetables man!! '

Sums it up for me !

As to the OP could not give two fcuks.Hope they go down ,into administration and never hear of the cabbages again !!

You mean someone who is going to throw money at it don't you? Your lot are f***ing obsessed with spending and cannot see that your level is where you are at

Anybody in any walk of life who adopts that philosophy will never progress.

It's you that is looking at Newcastle through your prism of spite.

We are more objective - fact is , he has spent less than any of the other last term promoted clubs - and less than the newly promoted clubs.

£23M PROFIT on players alone.

What's happened to the TV monies ? - that is the question that anyone objective would be asking.....

I don't feel sorry for the Mags at all, the dirty fuckers.

That said, whilst I don't believe it's better to be in League One than the Prem and want us to get our way back to the Prem.......I do also think when we get there il hate it. As the OP touches on, when you aren't one of the big teams in the Prem, you've got nowt to hope for other than survival or the "brilliant success" or 7th place. Effectively you're just "existing" to make your owner money.

Not sure what to make to the above contradiction in my thoughts. Maybes I'm just off football generally.

I wish. Be years till another one.
Clubs are spending twenty to thirty on one player just to stand still.
Not a world class, or a great player.
Just a good player.
Fifty upwards is the norm.
Chelsea thirty five million on Danny Drinkwater on last season.
The way transfer fees and wages are going it's only a matter of time before football implodes on itself. The dramatic rises every year is just unsubstainable.

Imagine feeling sorry for them man

They've had nothing but a good laugh at our recent plight- why should we be offering them sympathy when they're in the premier league and just finished 10th? If that were us, we wouldn't be as childish to be up in arms against the owner. We'd want to push on, every club does (so don't accuse us of no expectations) but I think we'd be quite happy to achieve that.

Their whole "plight" is that they are a bunch of deluded, over entitled goons who think they are bigger than they actually are and have god's given right to compete at the top of football.

Any "non-top" manager at the club receives hell if he doesn't live up to these expectations. Bar Rafa, manager after manager has been hounded out because they've sat around mid-table; it's f***ing embarrassing. If not the manager, then it's the owner.

No sympathy here, I can only hope they struggle that they might be brought back down to earth and stop living on the memories of 21 years ago.

Paranoid bollocks this like, the accounts are published and you are paying for the massive spend to get yourselves back into the league which is why other teams can spend more.

Huddersfield in particular spent very little to go up.

I think you have every right to moan this year although in previous years I think you have been wrong to.

They need to accept they’ve got an owner who doesn’t want to be there and that they don’t have an entitlement to win the league. They live in that period where FFS nearly bankrupted them by running the club emotionally. Fans are unhappy, sign a player. Geordie nation, sign a massive player. That spell nearly broke them and ironically their value is so high based on the way Ashley has set the business up.

He’s not spending money and they’re in the same position we were with Short. Fuck them. Not one bit of sympathy, I’ve good mates who are black and white and I can have a chat with them and see it hurts them but generally, they can all go and fist themselves, the humourless, classless wankers.

Yes lots of clubs taking risks, as we did. It's certainly not the right path to follow long term.
