He has gone. Forget about him.

I'm answering an issue raised by one of your fellow supporters ...
... you forget it if you wish, no one forces you to read the Sunderland supporters forum.

Of course you now want to forget about him after the way he humiliated you.

The silence, from Newcastle, is deafening since it became obvious he didn't care about the supporters.

I'll talk about whatever I choose on here.
Bit churlish to say he didn't try and engage with the region, didn't want to rely on my shitty memory so a quick google spits out these two, but given the man's character I'd expect he did more I just can't be arsed to trawl through articles to find more examples.

I see there's still little middle ground on here.

Haway man, you spend hours researching your 'facts' and posting your essays.

One article doesn't prove anything, in general he rarely 'engaged' and you know it.
And, how is he engaging with the supporters? It's a staged publicity event with the cameras in place.

Any goals he's involved in will be ruled out by VAR for a foul in the build up.
Won't even play 10 games.
Strange singing imo. Never been fit for years.

If somehow he manages to get/stay fit for more than half a season then he might be handy to have, but he's never fit for long enough to be useful, and that is why he's on a free transfer.
Hopefully my scepticism is wrong, and he plays 30 odd games and scores 15-20 goals. Highly doubtful though

That's like saying "hopefully it gets dark tonight"

Free PR for the club, not that strange a signing

He went for the money. That seems blindingly obvious.

Even the most blinkered would have to accept that he cannot possibly have gone there for footballing reasons.

He stayed for over three years. In the present day that represents quite a tenure. Getting offered that money at 59, I don't think many would decline it. I would be off in a shot.

I certainly didn't feel humiliated by it. It became a bit inevitable as time went on.

As much as I hate to say this but this could be a good move for him and the mags. He never wanted to leave in the first place and I think it's been obvious since then. A move back home for him could reignite the flame and see him stay fit/be prepared to play we hen he has a knock and if he can get some form he's a hell of a player.
