Heard them singing about Pope being England's Number One tonight. Embarrassing after his recent England performance where he dropped his arse when given his big chance.

I reckon top 5. Big spending in January to swap out the Longstaffs, Frasers and the like and they'll be up there and really tough to beat.

They've got absolutely no chance of finishing top 5. They aren't leapfrogging any of the 5 already above them and Liverpool will overtake them. The very best they can get this season is 7th. Personally I think West Ham will finish ahead of them and they'll end up 8th.

Newcastle can buy themselves success. Klopp was right, it’s the ugly modern game unfortunately. I’ve lost all respect for teams like Man City or Chelsea who’s purchased success. As a neutral, I think it’s great when the underdog beats them.

They’ve had a lot of favourable fixtures

Forest and Bournemouth both promoted at home
Promoted Fulham away (played against 10 men for 80 mins)
Brentford and Everton at home

I think they’ll finish top half maybe top 8 but their start has been very kind.
Conveniently forgetting Man City, Liverpool, Man Utd, Brighton

People can make as many excuses as they want, but they've had an excellent start to the season and more concerning for me as an SAFC supporter is that on paper their starting 11 doesn't even look that good and has plenty of room for further improvement, which makes it even more impressive.

Howe is doing a really good job thus far and defensively they look solid, which is always one of the biggest critiques against him.

They look to have a great team spirit too and the fans and club seem united which has also been lacking over the last decade

If they keep adding a player or two like Guimares every window, it would be enough to keep them pushing on.

Top 4 is still way out of reach IMO, but unfortunately I feel we'll have to concede that our biggest fears when the takeover eventually went through, seems to be a matter of when and not if.

You could argue Brighton was a favourable fixture as well, so thanks for that one.

So In 11 games you’ve played 3 of last seasons top 6 teams, whilst playing all 3 of the promoted teams, 2 at home. Then you’ve played mid to lower table teams in the rest of your games.

f***ing idiot.

You’re absolutely spot on unfortunately.

But at what cost? Yes I know the mags won’t give a toss, but at what cost? Literally any success from now on, should it be minor or major has been bought and it’s been funded by money made literally exploiting people to death. It’s a football club that is being treat with more respect and digital than citizens of a nation. That’ll never go away regardless of many trophies.

The truly sad part is how much Newcastle fans won’t give a shit. They barely give a shit now and that’s before they claim any silverware. Look at some of the scenes yesterday man. Mags crying because of Everton fans kicking off outside the ground (which I don’t condone) but it’s ok to go completely out of your way to rip piss out of Pickford as hard as you can for 90 minutes just because he’s from Sunderland? They have zero morals which will make any trophies even more unbearable to take.

Agree with all of this. They're doing a lot better than I expected. Expectations will skyrocket though. Say they finish 7th or 8th this season then they'll be expected to be 4th or 5th next season. A repeat performance would see Howe sacked and that big name manager bought in. Getting into the Champions League places is never easy and they'll be throwing a shitload of money at it.

The top 6 in the PL are really good but under that, any team can come 7th or find themselves in a relegation battle.

I honestly dont care as long as they dont win anything which is unlikely.

More concerned about us losing future generations of support to them.

Im all for the 'project' but we need to be back in the prem and competing asap.
