You’re forgetting he’s sacked 947 kitchen staff since he took over at Man United mind.West Midland metro is planning a £100 million extension to serve the proposed Birmingham City FC sports village, public money for an American owner.
The replacement for the container depot next to Old Trafford will be provided by the private sector (at Port Salford close by and at St Helens) but remodelling of road, rail and metro provision for the redevelopment around Old Trafford will undoubtedly come from the public purse and will cost a fortune.
They should tell that scumbag Ratcliffe to dip into the tax free earnings he has stashed away in Monaco to pay for it.
Thought fat like sold the land and is that not where stack is ?Pretty sure I saw an article stating that the additional tier in the gallowgate would cost closer to £400m due to all the work needed

Hopefully not empty seats M’Lord.£100m on adding a few seats to the existing ones? Building around the existing seating aren’t they?
Probably did , dirty money can buy anythingI think they bought a fair chunk back mate?
Almost twice the width, higher too. New roof, complete fit out of old and new structure. It all adds up.Logon or register to see this imageJust looking at that artists impression, it doesn't look particularly bigger than the existing one?
Logon or register to see this imageIs it really worth spending £100 million on it?
Trigger's BroomAll about corporate facilities theses days to charge top dollar , love villa park they have managed to retain its charm even thou it’s a complete new stadium since early 90s
Hopefully not empty seats M’Lord.
Public funding for private developments is nothing new, the argument is they will bring in millions to the local economy and stimulate growth/jobs, which results in increased tax revenue.Be interesting to understand how they are framing the request for public funding. Potentially opens the door for others to follow suit.
They are claiming it will return an extra 13 million per year in revenue, so it won't take long at all to pay off and the cost to service it should easily be met. No brainer really. You must be logged on to see external links
£100M for one stand, shows how inflation is kicking in.
Not sure how public it is, nor how much it actually means it may happen, but I know they have submitted plans to build a new, larger ground, on Leazes park.If the mags extend the Gallowgate by 7,000 - 10,000 it's probably going to cost well over £200M. Strawberry Place, the road that runs from the bottom of St James Street right along the back of the stand will need to be relocated or somehow moved underground and housed underneath the stadium. St James Metro station will probably need to be moved too. Hilarious that this is their easiest / cheapest way to increase capacity. Everything else is a nightmare of planning and insane costs.
All about maximising turnover, rather than attendances. It’ll be hospitality, event space etc.
Haven't you got a massive season ticket waiting list? 40K I read?Game has been moved to a Sunday night and is on tv hence the slower ticket sales. Palace have also sent back the upper tier of the away end which are on sale to Villa fans. We wouldn’t sell out every week at 50k unless we were doing really well but we’d sell out enough to make it worth while.
Reckon they’ll have relaid the pitch a few times in that period like.Good that some clubs will still be playing on the grass they were 100+ years ago, loads of history there.
And there it is.Reckon they’ll have relaid the pitch a few times in that period like.

Good chance it's just hedging bets, getting pre approval etc while they decide what they want to do, but a good friend works for the Police in a relatively senior role and been in meetings as part of very early discussions.
I am well aware of public monies being used for private developments. They are mainly getting this expansion because they are a host for the Euros, such a shame we missed out or we'd likely be doing the same. It is predicted hosting will bring 190 million to the local area.

This is the main reason we need to expand, build big concourses with bars, restaurants, and other recreation and entertainment venues that people will spend money in all week long, so we can significantly raise our revenue and compete in spending with other clubs.
