New Villa stand gets the green light

Reading that man utd are angling ( and looking likely to succeed ) to get public funding to build a new stadium…and we’re talking huge money, paid for by you and I.
Amazing that people like big Jim R eschews welfare, govt intervention etc etc, but wants the govt to give the worlds wealthiest football club a huge handout

It's a minging thing man utd are trying to do. Like NFL teams using public funds to build stadia who threaten to move the franchise.. The cost of moving the freight yard is many millions + infrastructure so even that element will cost the public a fortune but a private company reap the profits. Disgraceful situation.

Be interesting to understand how they are framing the request for public funding. Potentially opens the door for others to follow suit.

A staunch Brexiteer who criticises government immigration policy, against net zero, criticises Labour and Conservative parties. Sounds like a Reformer. I thought Reformers were all for cutting public expenditure 🤣🤣🤣

West Midland metro is planning a £100 million extension to serve the proposed Birmingham City FC sports village, public money for an American owner.

The replacement for the container depot next to Old Trafford will be provided by the private sector (at Port Salford close by and at St Helens) but remodelling of road, rail and metro provision for the redevelopment around Old Trafford will undoubtedly come from the public purse and will cost a fortune.

They should tell that scumbag Ratcliffe to dip into the tax free earnings he has stashed away in Monaco to pay for it.

There was a canny article on this topic in Guardian the other week.

Questionable if they have the demand for 50,000 people.

Tickets are still available on general sale for their home game tomorrow

Its almost as if Ratcliffe the Brexit supporting Monaco resident, is a bit of a hypocrite.
