New Music Releases Thread

Poor Creature - a Lankum/Landless irish folk supergroup. If the track on the new Uncut CD is anindication, this is up there with Hesse Kassel for album of the year.
Okay, I'll keep the new tradition going and list this week's new releases on a Wednesday. There are albums on Friday from Alan Sparhawk, Amy Millian, Anyma, Caroline, Foxwarren, Garbage, Grace Potter, Kathryn Joseph, Matt Berninger, Miley Cyrus, Mt. Joy, Obongjayar, Pavement (the soundtrack to the film about them), Sally Shapiro, Shura, Ty Segall, yeule, Springsteen's Country (a compilation), Matthew Young, Swans, Faun Fables, Ellen Arkbro, Etyen, Minus 5, Goddess and Jacob Alon.

Is Miley Cyrus (inc rat)?

New one from Alan Sparhawk will be a big improvement on last year's album. None of the same treated vocals on this to my knowledge. Songs I've heard from it are very good. He plays the Cluny in August and I may go even though it clashes with Arab Strap.
Stereolab album is great and will be an album of the year contender for me. These New Puritans is decent although probably not my favourite from them.

Sparhawk is working with Trampled By Turtles who are great (if you like a modern take on bluegrass).

I'm still working through the last two weeks' albums. The Lido Pimienta album is up there though.

That’s a belting Friday that

Sparhawk, Caroline, Joseph, National lad, Pavement, Segall, yeule and Swans

Maybe even Garbage for old times sake. And Amy Millian too

New Ben Kweller album out today as well.
Looking like a return to form here for BK, after his disappointing last couple of albums and big hiatus. A lot of very personal songs about losing his son 2 years ago as well. “Letter to Agony” and “Oh Dorian” are the stand out tracks.

I've been looking forward to that one. I've enjoyed all the pre release ones.

There is tracks with Waxahatchee, MJ Lenderman, Flaming Lips and Jason Schwartzman if anyone is interested.

Listened to Matt Berninger this morning. It's just okay. You know what you're getting with it.

2 new releases from 'Last night from Glasgow ' label - Sister John and Pearl Charles.

Haven't listened to former yet, but latter is very Rumer meets Weyes Blood.

Went to see Jasmine 4.T last night, they were very very good. Made a hell of a racket too that you wouldnt necessarily think from the album. Thoroughly enjoyed it and they seemed to too.

It was definitely the "queerest" audience I've ever been a part of, half the politics board would've lost their minds!

The new Pulp album is out on friday too (apologies if already mentioned, didn't notice it).
I'm seeing them in Glasgow on saturday night so would have liked a bit longer with the album, but I've liked the songs I have heard from it and reviews have been good.
