Sam Jr was out yesterday I think. If you can’t wait for it

The first two Alex Cameron records were top drawer but he's really went off the boil imo. I'll listen tomorrow but not getting hoped built up

Jeremy Ivey came up in my Apple Recommendations today so I’ve just given it a spin. I’m quite enjoying it, sounds a bit like a less experimental Rayland Baxter in places.

I also discovered that he’s Margo Price’s husband.

I knew the latter. Member of her band, of course. There's a piece about him in the current Uncut.

The final set of PJ Harvey demos (The Hope Six Demolition Project) was released today. It's one of the more interesting demo releases in the series and definitely worth hearing.
Apart from that I listened to The Monochrome Set and thought it was very decent.

The last record was diabolical. Based on one listen to this new one it's fine, certainly worth another go. It's a concept record about the opioid crisis in the US.

Nothing will come close to the first two records though. Both are pop brilliance.

I listened yesterday and on first listen it seemed okay but couldn’t really give it a proper go but will do that the weekend.
Couldn’t agree more about his first two records both absolutely sublime. I loved them both equally

Got the week off and am rifling through last month’s MOJO reviews for anything I’ve missed while at work - case in point, this King Hannah record. Swampy Nick Cave, Pixies ness. Really nice.

Gang of Youths I’m still not convinced by. I know they were all in the church previously but it still feels exactly like I’m listening to Uber Christian rock.

Marr record is his best solo album IMO.

I love Marr, but have been extremely disappointed by his solo stuff. His last album reminded me of the terrible hard -fi.But this album is easily his best
