New laws....These are the 11 things it is now illegal for your partner to do in a relationship

2. Restricting your access to money
She does this, all women do
3. Repeatedly putting you down
Cant help herself
4. Stopping you from seeing family or friends
"Do we HAVE to go to your mams"
5. Scaring you
Every time I open her bank statement
6. Threatening to reveal private things about you
No, you can have that one
7. Putting tracking devices on your phone
Apple find friends anyone
8. Being extremely jealous
Constantly
9. Forcing you to obey their rules
Isn't this what they all do
10. Controlling what you wear
Naturally
11. Making you do things you don't want to
Always

So once again women are the "Victims" and I'm a nasty man for trying to stop her ruining her life or making stupid mistakes.

When I met her she had a bit of debt, I helped her sort her finances out to pay it off over a year and as soon as she did she wanted to buy a new sofa on a credit card as a reward.... as a reward!!

We have separate bank accounts still. She can do what she wants with her money.

Absolutely not. The entire house would be filled with novelty shit we don't need from Amazon.

She accepts it herself though... she's just an impulse buyer.

And putting her down aswell... that's one of my favourite things to do. She'd be weirded out if I went an entire week without calling her an idiot.

You realise the article doesn't mention women once don't you? In fact, you're the first person here to suggest it is gender specific.

None of them, no. They're all abusive.
 
The first one is wrong for a start; "It is illegal for someone to share intimate photographs of you with anyone else." No it's not, it's illegal to do it without the subjects consent, that distinction changes the whole point.

Number five is already illegal, their definition of "scaring" someone would fall under the definition of assault. Nothing new here.

The best bit is this hasn't made it into law yet, it's still a bill going through parliamentary scrutiny. The Echo could do with a course on the difference between an act and a bill.
