That doesn't really contradict what the lad said mind. We know the debt was Ellis's fault, and we know people were taking the piss (like Bain with his back which was mentioned on STID), I don't think anyone is looking at his time with rose tinted glasses. That doesn't change the fact that Donald hasn't saved the club. Ultimately, after all that, he got the club debt free, albeit having had to use a parachute payment to clear the SBC debt. From there he seems to have done a decent job of cost cutting but it's canny easy to cut costs if you accept not progressing on the pitch. We needed someone who could cut costs and get us a side capable of getting out of the third tier of English football. He hasn't done it. This season we seem worse than last, we've got very few players with any sell on value, we've got nothing coming through the academy because the best talent has all been flogged (or poached, depending on if you believe that the club hasn't actively looked to let them go). I don't see that as saving the club, it's just cutting back and cutting back until we're a run of the mill league one side

Difference is that Short cleared the debt he created, these charlatans are destroying the club and they won't clear any debt created by them, as they want to make a profit. I would've been ok with that, except they destroyed our dreams of getting wealthy owners and then is their constant lying and half-truths.

What have SD and CM done to improve the club where it matters ? ie on the pitch now and future ?

The accounts aren't realeased yet like many other clubs due to being allowed to delay them, there are bigger things going on the world than getting annual accounts reports

yes but no but yes but no. they got a club with Ellis's historical debt paid off BUT they got a club losing up to £25 million a year, the real figure after the clear-out and including income and parachute payments will show a working loss of about £11-13 million, NOW THAT IS A GUESS not a fact.
So to buy the club in the interim, and before the clear-out was finished we had lost about £6 million in old contracts paying off the outstanding debts to agents other clubs and paying the over inflated wages.
So no I don't think they got a debt free club at all.
Honestly think about this I know it was a mistake getting Ross, I said that from day one.
SD & CM imho bit off, a bit more than they could chew, I accept that, BUT there was not a que of ACCEPTABLE buyers lined up after ELLIS SHORT changed the deal with the Germans at the last minute, that is a well known fact, so these 2 come in everyone gets a hard on, and its gone wrong that's just business.
Please remember LOADS on here slated SHORT, now they slate these 2 , who next, if Micky Dell Paul Mullen Paul Cook Peter Kenyon or Amanda up the back Stavely, steps up to the mark and things go Pete Tong what then ??? sack them also, we need stability if SD & CM bring in big hitters and it turns round will we all be happy ??

I also sat in on a meeting with Bain with the supporters group in BCH he promised Ellis would back us no matter what 3 months later boom he stopped the cheques and it was arse nipping time.
Bain was almost as bad as Byrne now that was a scary CEO.

Bob, fans are allowed to be annoyed with an owner if things go wrong, but these are doing at such a low level it shouldn't be going tits up. Of course we will all be happy if he brings in big hitters marra, but what is the likelihood of that happening? If the business has gone wrong than that is the risk they took, no one could deny that the fans have done their part. These two however have failed, actually its 3, you never mention Sartori at all. has he still got his stake, is he bringing anything to the table at all or was this another of SD's big mistakes?
