look at Wolves, Sheff Wed, Leeds, all been down here because of bad directors/ Ego Chairman's getting it wrong, please ask Grumpy to post how bad it really was when they took over. the truth as CM said on STID 2 was correct, very very close to going under

Without Short’s money they couldn’t have gone anywhere near the club ! You didn’t answer the question about improvements on the pitch which is where SD said he wanted to be judged

Sorry with respect you are miles away from the facts on that.
Ellis Short paid off a monster debt, A DEBT HE created not these 2 LADS, yes Ellis with his trust in f***ing robbers like Bain and Byrne.
JUST FOR CLARITY, Short help create the debt, he then cleared it, how f***ing stupid was he.
just a note I had a one to one with Bain over a lease deal, stupidly I never smacked the ****, in a smug Jock voice he said, I quote" this is the best job in football uncle Ellis just pays the bills."
he was using the cryo unit we got for Defo and a few others, it was leased, it cost the club over £100k for 16 months use, that little twat used it twice a week for his bad back.
Thats in the accounts so it can be confirmed as fact.
Short the saviour my arse, he was part of the big problem, REMEMBER the Short out crowd FFS.
I could tell you lot loads more about what went on under Byrne and Bain they took our and Shorts eyes out.
That's not MAD that is fact.

A lot of words there but yiu have just agreed with the poster. They got a debt free club.

I don't clamour for Short back. It is his money but for 18 months or so he didn't really give a shite. He spent a lot of money but hadn't the commitment to the project to make it work or it would have done. With regard to the current lot I wouldn't question their commitment to the task effort wise - they've definitely put a shift in and wanted it to work and been there mostly. However i think the other way round with these. I'm not doubting the mess we were in when Short just did one and its right he sorted it cos it was on his watch ultimately. I do respect him for being a man about that to be fair cos some may not have done.
BUT the current lot got it wrong - either because they didn't have the cash to soften the landing, or they just thought chop an rebuild or because they thought they could gamble on a low spend model and still succeed or they wanted the books better to profit - their cutting has cost us over the medium term. Reduced incomings have as big an impact on business as too many outgoings and we are class 1 infrastructure in class 3 with nowt to pay for it at this time. They have made some bad football choices either due to lack of income or lack of investment or arrogance i don't know. It's bitten our arse on the field and in the books.
Like i wouldn't give Grayson the managers job again, we can't just say 'oh well they'll get it right next time'. The strategy and leadership needs to be better - however that happens. If that's with a new leader/investor and they stay on the board - i can live with that - if its Donald and Methven calling the shots again..... Well that's a massive gamble i don't think we can afford to take. If they want to stay committed but can accept their balls ups and step back thats a different story - at least they appear to give a shit effort wise whatever their motivation. We cant afford another year of balls ups though and people with no financial clout or we'll be in trouble so it has to change.

Amazing find

Reads almost exactly like his appraisal of Rodwell too

he is a proper bloke and hard as they come, you watch who gets fucked off then you will see its a good appointment.

They bought a debt free club with the best squad in the division and a very decent Academy for peanuts. Since then they've lost all the promising youngsters and we don't look like getting back to the Championship soon. No one could've handled the situation worse than they have. On top of that they haven't allowed us to have rich owners in FPP because they want to make a much bigger profit.
Can't wait to see the back of them.

This 100%

On top of that they haven't allowed us to have rich owners in FPP because they want to make a much bigger profit. dont know if this is true, but its what I suspect

no last years trading accounts, how long since Bain left ffs, if your gonna slag me which I don't mind do your homework 1st please
Hang on. At what point have I slagged you off? That post is about the fact that the accounts to year end 2019 could prove their claim to have saved the club once and for all. Yet they haven’t tried all available avenues to get them released - like so many other clubs have managed.
