New CEO appointed..

I just can’t see how a bloke with his credentials would be top of someone’s list, unless they are desperate, broke, taking the pis, clueless or all of them.
I also don’t understand why now? We’ve managed ages without this role and when there is no income, we make a bloody appointment

It's more a moral issue and I dont claim to understand how things work but how can you furlough staff from a company and during this period bring in a new member of staff surely that's not right

This. I dont see how you can be allowed to employ someone

Scunthorpe Live We sat down for a chat with Charlie Wilson, a journalist and fan who covers Scunthorpe United for Scunthorpe Live, to ask his honest views of new Sunderland AFC CEO Jim Rodwell. RR: So... Jim Rodwell. What do you think about his appointment as CEO of Sunderland? CW: I’m quite surprised by the appointment. Whilst Jim Rodwell has...

What a happy thought :)
We’re eighth iirc. That’d be our lowest ever position as last seasons was. We’ve no pp money coming in, no one of any worth to sell, Loans have been taken out to get through this season, no buyers on horizon, C19 knock on effects. I can’t see the current regime sacking the manager or finding money down the back of the sofa. If this fellers another cost cutting modus operandi typE as has been billed it’s not gonna get much better than the last two seasons if it gets better at all.
At least it’s not raining.

What a positive article from a scunthorpe journo

“If you are one of those fans that is unconvinced by Rodwell’s appointment, then my apologies to you, because I have little to positive to say - from my experience of covering and supporting the club - on what he’s going to do for Sunderland.”

Piss taking party is over

With respect after reading your post, you do not know SD at all, he has NOT changed the selling price he has only changed the fact if we get investment OR a partial sale where he keeps some shares along with CM.
I know this Jim will bring people to the club that will improve how we work. one final thing if you think you know SD then its you who are delusional he is not like that at all

SD & CM said similar, “the piss taking party is over” or words to that effect. Then they’ve taken the piss since then with recruitment / hiring mates / poor decisions etc etc

On the face of it this looks like another “jobs for mates” of someone with an average/poor reputation. Is that really what we need right now?

I'm still laughing at SAFCs statement "as the club continue to progress", crying I mean, I'm still crying
Just to help the club
Continue - persist in an activity or process
Progress - development towards an improved or more advanced condition

When you put them together it basically means carrying on improving. they are taking the f***ing piss this lot

the oiks audi sells is not selling at a negative level..its wto thats negative..thats us oil..
but yes the genral notion of the lower oil price is relevant..its also why the sauduis are investing outside of their own country..
The families controlling all the ArabIsh states nivver invest in their own countries apart from oil production, security, military and exclusive medical facilities. That’s why London house prices are so high....they own em all!

Its sunny in Devon, on leave today. Things looking ok, apart from a global pandemic and our club being dragged deeper and deeper into the shit

Reading that, he will fit in perfectly here ffs.

I know nowt about the him but the article is written by a bloke who has by his own admission hardly spoken to him and works for a publication banned by Scunthorpe. It’s hardly a position to gather anything inciteful. Admittedly his track record looks poor but we have no idea what parameters or restrictions he was working within nor do we know anything about day to day responsibilities.

Jesus, 27 pages of crying over the appointment of a ceo that nobody has heard of.
You are trying to suggest that the quality of the CEO at an organisation doesn't affect the performance of that organisation? It is pretty clear that at a point in time when we are at our lowest ebb, our lowest position, with an Academy that is being pillaged the appointment of a CEO who has failed in this role at smaller clubs should questioned. it is a key appointment and, on the face of it, it is an appalling one. Of course we could be wrong but I'd love to know what his objectives are. They were quite simple at Scunthorpe and after 5 years he had dismally failed for them.
