New CEO appointed..

I can see that TD needed replacing, I can also see that potential suitors wouldn’t think much of a club that didn’t even have a a CEO.

Still depressing to see the circles in which we now operate.

Interesting piece in roked report about it

“I myself have spoken with one particular bidder just this week, who is understood to remain keen on buying the club but has baulked at Stewart Donald’s asking price.”

I said this the other day. The Mags takeover is so hard to take because of the complete mess we are in.

It's a complete jokes. Hiring another one of their mates and another failure. I could understand if we went for the CEO of Wycombe, Fleetwood or Doncaster as those clubs are doing well and punching above their weight. But Scunthorpe! They've dropped like a stone and are in poor financial shape.

Stewart Donald is destroying club.

Depressing times that we are stuck with this lot whilst Arabs buy the mags.

Thought they could make a quick buck out of us, and now they can't get rid.
Our owners probably aren’t the most wealthy in Sunderland. Newcastle new owners are one of the most wealthiest in the world. It’s an absolute crying shame at how much of a Sunday league club we have become with appointments like today’s, even sadder is that people just accept it and say give him a chance. Honestly wouldn’t be surprised to see us finish bottom half of league one next season.

Grumpy Old Man estimated Stewart Donald's net worth under the surface could be up to £80 million.

I think a lot of the angst in this thread stems from this point. Although I'd get shot with shit for saying it.

Yeah mate. Everyone would be buzzing with this appointment if it wasn't for Newcastle's takeover. You seem desperate for everyone on here to care about it for some reason

What's the issue with that?

Part of a pattern of Donald/Methven only picking people they know.
Nothing wrong with having a few people you know and trust working with you but think outside the box and cast the net of potential recruits beyond “Jobs for the boys”.
Reeks of pure amateurism.

Never ceases to amaze how easy it is for some of our fans to ignore reality, ignore what is going on in front of their eyes, ignore people's mediocre (or worse) track records, just because they once met the owner and he came across as a canny bloke or posed for a selfie or bought a pint or something.

Great post. Been saying this since they day they darkened our doors.

The mere fact they had to go on their mock charm offensive by drinking in the pubs and going in with the away fans says everything about them. The best way to get people onside is to bring success on the field. Not pose for a “pint selfie” with Jim from the Ra. The fans who defend him are inevitable those types. Just ower the moon they’ve had a picture with him and declaring him the f***ing oracle because of it.
