New CEO appointed..

Rodwell is a replacement for Davison, who was MD. The implication of him being CEO is that Donald will become chairman, rather than executive chairman, ie stepping back from the day to day. When things get back to normal, I'd expect Rodwell to appoint someone to head up the marketing side.

Why the fuck should this failure of an appointment be given the chance to run this club from a day to day basis?

His record is absolute abysmal.

Davison and methven role haven’t been replaced, not their salaries, this is hardly a ground breaking appointment, in fact as he has come from such a stalwart and giant (no disrespect intended) of a league 2 club it looks and smell like we are a tinpot as ever

A league two club would be fine, if he’d overseen a few promotions from non league and was super dynamic, or maybe turned a club totally around. But he was literally relegated from this league last year, from a club that should never really of gone down and has them sitting 20th in League Two.

Because he is probably quite cheap and can't believe his luck he's been given this oppertunity.

It's like failing for years as the owner of Poundland and being given the same role at M&S, Embarrasing man.

So, he hasnt yet go his feet under the table and we have already decided he is no good?

Its the Sunderland way
What do you think his record suggests he will bring to the club ? Given that's all people can use for any apt be it manager player or staff !

To be fair we're a club supposedly looking to come up a division or two. We've brought someone in who has been at clubs who have been relegated in his last season there (and who mentioned he was looking forward to being at Scunthorpe when they moved into their new stadium which they still haven't done). It's a message board, people are bound to discuss and react based on the limited information we have available. The above, mixed with the Scunthorpe fans seemingly being happy he's gone (albeit a limited number of replies), isn't something that's going to have people massively optimistic. If we improve while he's here then I'm sure he'll start getting plenty of people giving him praise

this looks like Stew digging in for the long haul ; taking a back seat until the market in vintage football clubs needing expensive repair work picks up again

That sounds like a program that Nat Geo would have on how about Football Club SOS!

Now there is an idea for the Fulwell boys next venture!

I'd rather stay skint under incompetent management than be used to sportswash the Saudi regime . I know they hate Ashley but they've got no shame. Ignore the public beheading lads : we might sign Julian Draxler

Totally agree, could not stand part of the horror show that’s unfolding up the road. It’s going to be a long road back for us, we’ll hopefully maintain some integrity and moral code though, counter as it to the cesspool that football has now become.

Why pack one job in, to move here with the club up for sale ?
Assume his job will be safe or contract paid up, or maybe it’s more saleable with him as CEO.
Good luck to the lad, hope he improves on what we have currently.

Nothing like giving a man a chance.

Dont you dare use that f***ing, pathetic party line.

Give him a chance, it doesnt work like that man. You're meant to be an intelligent man but your love for Donald clouds your judgement. You wouldn't appoint a new accountant to your firm if the person has been part of 3 other firms who all failed each and every year. Financial issues, demotions etc.

Its not about giving someone a chance, its about looking at what they have done, can they do something differently here etc. This man clearly can not.

Sick of this bollocks me, clubs is going to the f***ing wall - But aye, give this failure a chance.
