I don’t Brady and co are thinking league one or even championship for long. They’ll fuck up along the way, like appointing that imbecile Rooney, but I’ve no doubt they’ll learn quick and Brady doesn’t seem to be the type not to succeed, he will also have backers just wanting to hop into bed with him just because he’s Tom Brady.Yeah but running that size stadium in league 1 is never going to be profitable regardless of a few extra events. The debt will soon mount.
SOL was a bargain by comparison
From WIKI

60,000 is not about twice 66,000
"Relegation to league one changes nothing"
SOL was so good by Bob Murray
Its not perfect like but just a bargain, I love it personally
Was great for the first fifteen years but needs modernising sharpish to keep up with the changing pace of expectation. Certainly within the next decade and especially around the south and east stand where the new developments will be springing up in the near future.
If we want international events and big concerts going forward (an important revenue stream) it needs to be done. Hopefully the owners have even a fraction of the ambition that Brum’s seemingly have for their infrastructure.

Is that a thing? Muslims don't like football?A lot of clubs close by . The area has a lot of glory hunters supporting United and Liverpool and there’s 250k Muslims in the city which for most football isn’t their thing and if it is they follow the glory teams. It’s completely unlike Sunderland and Newcastle. Birmingham is so spread out and if you were in the city centre you wouldn’t think there’s a game on.
Birmingham City will be the last thing on his mind when planning this arena. It will be used and paid for by NFL and other shows no doubt. The football team will be a side show.
The fact they sacked a manager doing well at the time for a Wayne Rooney vanity project tells you where their heads are at.
Full? It'll look like St James's when the mags were in the championship.
I’d argue work should have really started 5 years ago mate. Last year, the club were confident in getting Taylor Swift, but the gigs ended up in Liverpool - a stadium that has seen significant redevelopment over the last few years.
If the club aren’t careful, I can see them having real issues landing gigs in the coming years unless they invest in the ground.
Could’ve said the same about City back in the day.Birmingham city will need Villa, Wolves and WBA to all get relegated / or fold before they can even think about getting 60,000 into their ground
tidiedIts going to look class with 20,000 scrattered around it
Man City?....at least they had some history and were the record attance holders in L1 before us and Leeds.....Birmingham do not have that base support or history to draw from.Could’ve said the same about City back in the day.
