Never won on a Friday Night

I was in our end at Old Trafford in 06 when we finally got put out our misery and relegated. Funny thing was it was arguably our best performance of the season.
I was at Haggerston Castle for the weekend. Avoided the football on the Friday as I couldn’t be arsed getting depressed about another thumping.

I remember checking the score on the Saturday morning and being stunned when I read “Manchester United 0-0 Sunderland - Sunderland are relegated.”

Funny what you can remember.

That clown in goal Kelvin Davis celebrating at the end because he had kept a clean sheet was embarrassing given we were relegated that night. Useless he was.

I'm sure Man Utd fans were taking the piss that we'd gone down too.

This justifies us taking the piss when City won the title.

Funny thing is, we beat and drew with City that season. We did as much as we could to make them win it and they still ballsed it up.

Us taking a point meant they couldn't win the league, there fans were even bigger arseholes after the game than normal, memories a bit vague, but I think we had a chance to win it late on
