and sinclair doesnt play for us now...embleton is a forward..done more than nelson at a younger or simialr age..kimpioka is younger done more than nelson..you cant keep all of them..so you keep the ones more advanced relative to their age..nelsonj got a crapo scottish team..very few players who have left us fromt he academty have gone on to higher teams if we released them..
 
That podcast with the academy boss made it really clear that their aim is to get all academy lads a chance at a pro career in football. Making it to our 1st team is a chance very few will get.
 
Don't get why we let him go to be honest , scored goals in every team he has played in , including loan his spells . People saying Kimpioka is ahead of him are of course correct but read

Embleton plays centre midfield
 
Seen him few times at Hetton..big strong aggressive lad who was good in air .Loved a tackle and was noticeably stronger than most of our other young uns.I kna strength dosnt make a good player but he had something to his gane and will do well up there i expect ( and hope for the lad)

embleton polays ina front three for grimsby..where it is going rather well..if he is a centre mid he is behind about sizx players..

He has always been CM Grimsby may be using him in a front three but that is not his best position. My son played in the same team as him and Nelson for 10 years and he always played CM, all of his England appearances were in CM .As a forward Nelson is far better player. Embleton is better CM than several currently in first team squad in my opinion. Nelson has also done it against adults Kimpioka has not other than 2 appearances, his other appearances were against U21 teams in Chekertrade, big difference.

Looks like the next academy players to break through are Hackett kimpioka and diamond.
 
Let's give it 10 games at least before we judge whether letting him go was a bad idea. Rada Prica scored on his debut.

His aggression for the " reserves" at Hetton was great...nearly put one of opposing players into the stand (fair tackle)right in front of me ..we were getting outplayed and it raised our tempo immediately.To be fair im a bit biased as i like that type of player..Joe Bolton ,Bally etc.Im maybe not the best judge as i felt Asoro and Maja were too lightweight!!
Nelson seemed to love playing his football for us..shame..but hope he makes it.
