I never mentioned animals and I said it has all kinds of uses for people. Head lice, scabies, river blindness, strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis and lymphatic filariasis.

They report on what the science says with proof. What it doesn't say is that it's used as a vaccination for covid19 cos that would be a lie. A lie endorsed by Rogan.

Now Young and Mitchell have said their piece I respect both them as well as Rogan for him making money out of deceit. The information is out there and everyone can believe what they want to believe. I'm all for freedom.

He's made a stand on the basis of his personal convictions and followed through accordingly. That's integrity, not embarrassment.

He's one of the 20th century's most celebrated, successful and respected cultural voices, his legacy and fortune are established, he's not going to give a shit what Rogan's 11 million critical thinking disciples think of him, he's untouchable to them. He's stirred up their little nest and removed himself entirely from the picture without consequence to anything that matters in his life. It's funny.

Spotify is a commercial platform/market/organisation which exists to make money. It already has policies in place to establish and enhance that purpose, including removing podcasts and songs at any point it wishes for any reason. Neil Young has every right to use his commercial power to exert influence on Spotify for any reason he likes, as does Rogan or indeed anyone else. Rich people use their money for the purpose of propagating their own personal and political beliefs all the time.

Spotify isn't a tool of free thought and democracy. It's a service that makes wealthy people wealthier. That's it.
Neil Young and Joe Rogan are not the arbiters of free speech and Spotify is not a gladiatorial ring for them to duel in. It's a commercial service that both are wealthy stakeholders in and like any wealthy stakeholder, their motives and vision for what their service should do and who should and shouldn't be Involved will differ

It's frankly depressing that so many people look to either of them as some sort of generational figurehead for anything like as important a matter as freedom of speech. They're both rich white men out of touch with the majority of humanity and associated consequence . They're representative of themselves and their outrageous wealth and removal from ordinary society, and nothing more.
