Yea Clark, Colback......legends

Easy comment, I wasn't talking about players, I was made redundant by the club and it makes no difference who you support if you have a mortgage. I am a sunderland fan but being happy someone has lost their job just because they are a mag is in my opinion pathetic.

It's great seeing a full clear out of the failure that's hung around far too long.

How many have we heard or read that about under Shorts tenure? Far, far too many

Agree mate.

Easy to see how it happened though. Absent owner who leaves everything to Bain. He literally employs his mates instead of the best candidates. They recommend their mates and the train continues.

Bout time it was derailed for good.

I think our staff numbers are high even compared to premier league clubs. I agree though just cutting posts isn’t the answer we need to assess the impact.

Which is surely what is happening?

"Does this person bring value or benefit to SAFC? Nope? Well there's the door then"

Should have been happening a long time ago. £100k a month saved just getting rid of that parasitic twat Bain.

You can't pin this one on Bain. The overmanning at the club has been going on for years. If anyone was empire building it was Gary the Hair.

Christ! A guy gets made redundant and some people are full of glee because his Dad played for them up the road. I thought we were better than that tbh. A load of us either work with, or have worked with some of their lot during our working lives. If there were redundancies, did people keep a scorecard of which teams supporters were getting hit the hardest? Get real! I don't know whether this bloke can afford to lose his job or not, whether he supported them or not, but its pitiful to see some of the comments on here.

If you compare our numbers of employees with PL clubs, we have more than most clubs outside the top 6. Our last accounts showed 293 non-playing staff; Newcastle have 127, Stoke 224, West Brom 89, Southampton 110. The better question is why do we have so many in the first place, and is one that Donald and Methven have probably asked.

This!

Loads slated Bain for redundancies and have blamed the players. But for years we've seemingly been top heavy with people employed.

Now in an ideal world it would be great to spread the wealth. Don't pay the players as much and create a lot of "nice to have" jobs, but it's not an ideal world it's the real world. Harsh as it is, the cull on numbers seems to be long overdue still.

Get a grip you gaping vagina

I think the reason why we seem to have a larger workforce than most other clubs is that matchday workers are employed by the club. Other clubs use companies that provide the staff and this will only show as an expense.
