you have to look at it liberally, at the end of the day this lads lost his job.....his livelihood and potentially not able to feed his wife and kids......

This. Don't get the obsession on here with a staff member being a geordie/mag/son of a mag etc
I’m married to a Geordie, live in Ponteland my first child was born in Newcastle and my best mate is a Mag.......find the obsession on here petty, small minded and ill informed.

Very insular people.

The sort that wouldn’t go to Newcastle shopping of go on holiday because it’s from Newcastle Airport.
Says a lot about their upbringing.....they would vote UKIP if they didn’t have to vote for the Labour Party

It's the quality of the services being delivered though Alf. There isn't one aspect of the club that can't be improved and it's good to see changes being implemented. Of course,we'll have to wait to see what improvements there are,but at least Donald is getting to grips with it early.

Fully agree mate...almost everything can be improved....I’m just dubious of the belief that it can be improved by employing less people. My experience of that philosophy suggests it doesn’t improve.

I understand that income has dropped but do they actually need less people to do the work required in running a football club or are we just cost cutting regardless of the impact it has on delivering services.

If you compare our numbers of employees with PL clubs, we have more than most clubs outside the top 6. Our last accounts showed 293 non-playing staff; Newcastle have 127, Stoke 224, West Brom 89, Southampton 110. The better question is why do we have so many in the first place, and is one that Donald and Methven have probably asked.

Thanks for that Grumps....answers the question nicely.

You don't need 300+ staff at a league 1 club. They'll be doing it to cost cut and because we have too many staff. I'm interested in how they know who to cut though and who not to. They must be listening to someone with regards to who supposedly isn't pulling their weight

That’s fine, the numbers were pointed out to me.
