Been excellent this season, but in case you hadn't noticed, we are in the league below



He had a brief period, but he had gave up late on, think you are forgetting. He was actually picked out on Match of the day a few times when I wasn't pressing the ball or tracking runners.

I am bumping this because half of you numptys slagging Ndong and saying he was not worth 13 million would not recognise a good player if it bit you in the arse. He was a foreigner living away from home in a shit team but still stood out. Now there is talk of 20 million bids and I said he would transfer for $40 million before he was 26 years old

I thought/still think that 14 million was too much when we needed players who could hit the ground running last season.

This season however he's looked the business, his drive and energy and ability to break up play is one of the main reasons we've started well, I'd be gutted if we sold him as its been a long times since I've seen one of our players cover so much of the pitch.

I like him. Seems to have a great appetite to work. Looks to be present and effecting the game most of the time. Younger than Honeyman by the way. Needs to learn a little more positional discipline and I hope he does. Doesn't seem to be a great passer and not sure if he can learn that but you can be taught concentration so a 10% improvement is possible. His fee and circumstances mean he may stay with us this season and I hope that's the case. Can't see him and Catts losing too many midfield battles this year.

He is just a good player. It isn't hard to see that when he closes, they turn back and forced to start again

The lad doing his best rodwell, hiding and taking up awful positions time after time. Couldn't be bothered to track runners and somehow managed to get caught wrongside of Britton for second goal.

His performance summed up in the second half when he didn't bother to get himself onside even though he could see right in front of the line.

Is it just general lack of football awareness or a lack of application.

Hes been class this season.

Showed he had something about him last season, bit raw which is understandable, needs to keep learning. Being played in the correct role and position this season, which he wasn't for most of last. Our most important central midfielder given the formation we're playing and our approach.

He went to France from Tunisia and only had 1 year there or at least 1 year playing first team football, then he left to come to England to the worst side in the league with a pretty crap midfield. I think he did show enough last season for us to think there is a very decent player in there but as you say he looked very raw and at times he looked poor

I still think he will show his rawness this season but will get away with it more due to us being at a lower level. At the moment I think he could develop into a good bottom half PL midfielder

I agree, in some games I've thought the same of N'Dong. Covering plenty of ground doesn't equate to working hard as a midfielder. A desire for the ball and willingness to take responsibility is more important IMO. It's why I always have time for Cattermole. Regardless of his shortcomings he always wants the ball and doesn't shy away from that responsibility.

If that was to happen it's more indicative of the financial state of the game than N'Dong's abilities.

I think he could develop into a solid top flight player. He's not shown much more to say otherwise

He is our Duracell bunny in midfield. You will always need someone with boundless energy in central midfield especially with the others we have in that position, none of whom is particularly mobile.

I see those traits in Rodwell but not in N'Dong, the lad breaks up play quite a lot, he's still got plenty to learn mind but he's the mainstay in our midfield for me, just him being on the pitch could mean we get more games out of Cattermole or Gibson or any of our other injury prone mid's.

Your being way too harsh on the lad.

He's frustrating but I still like him. I think he will go on to be a very good player for us if we keep him.

I've not seen that at all. I've seen him unsure what to do with it especially in a positive sense and so not really wanting it, but I've never seen him not show for it.

I totally agree about Rodwell and it is a far bigger part of his game than Ndong's. I may be being a little harsh on the lad but it's definitely there.

He's what 22? He's got the tools there to get better, I was harsh on the lad last season but the reality was that we'd paid too much for him and we all expected him to hit the ground running but that was never going to be the case.

He's had a little time to adjust and this level will be more forgiving on him. I've come to really rate the lad this season of he continues he can only get better.

It was obvious to me last season even though he was a young boy who did not speak the language and was thrust into a struggling team and asked to step up a class that he would be a quality footballer. I expect him to progress in leaps and bounds this season and be spoken about in the same breath as N"Golo Kante

Definitely a player N'Dong should try to emulate as he does have obvious similarities to Kante
