Mowbray

Well yes, obviously.
What I mean is I’m unsure of what tweaks have been made, as we play in large the exact same as we were doing at the time.
Just now we’re scoring again and keeping it out at the other. Brilliant to see!
Hume isn't wandering half as much as he was in the early games imo. Neil and elwah have also got a rhythm going together.

Off the ball was awful early doors.

Hongkongphooey trying to initiate a pile on as usual.

Has tears in his eyes crying to the mods when you bump his old posts though.

What i said was right and taking less risks in possession has coincided with better results.

I pissed no bed. I said all summer we have easily a top half squad and will have a good season.

The lad bumping this had meltdown after meltdown over everything from speakman to scared his digital season card wouldn't work

Don't you think Mowbray is a dinosaur?

Hume was my MOTM on Saturday. Important in the build up and made some excellent tackles. There was one in the first half where I thought the QPR player was through, he slid in and hooked the ball way.

I think his role is to come inside and support the attack. Watch the shape of the team when he does. Hume goes forward, Ballard goes to the middle, O'Nein moves further out to the right and a DM drops back to support and cover Hume.

What worries me about our defence is we are still not picking up players. I think all the goals we have let in this season have come from an unmarked player on the edge of the box. We don't have anyone really leading in defence to ensure we are covered. At times, some of the players look like they are zonal marking but end up marking nobody. Ba was closest but got pulled into the box to close down another player, leaving the scorer free. I could see it happening a mile off. Not Ba's fault, he could not ignore a man on the ball in the box.

Tactics wise though, I have been critical of Mowbray and no clear plan, but switching to 3 at the back and getting Roberts to support Ba (who had been a bit isolated in attack) changed the game. Got to give him credit for that.

Tbf the OP had a point 1st couple games as we were countered on far too easily and lost 2 games because of it, while looking the better team for majority. Obviously went a bit personal with the biscuit stuff, which hasn't helped him a bit. Find it funny it being bumped though by people who hate Speakman and would have had him hung and burned like a witch and thought he was the devil, every time we lost a game last season.

Depends what you mean by 'wandering'. There was more fluidity in between Hume and O'nien and Humes movement around the pitch on Saturday than during any other game this season. The difference is Hume is actually playing well now and we've settled a bit.

Weren't you one of the ones who agreed with people criticising Mowbray restricting Humes' runs forward and thus the lack of supply for Hemir earlier in the season?

Not sure, I don't think so though. The way we play simply won't get the best out of forwards in games like qpr and Ipswich where they've parked the bus... there's not many ways to get strikers into the games tbh. The responsibility to win the game lies with midfielders and wingers I would say.

O'nein being so fluid yesterday helped us as earlier on in the season you had hume tucking in and neither of the centre backs came out wide to help support on that channel. Now Hume doesn't have to be stuck between 2 jobs and just looking like a.spare part. Once Roberts lost the ball we were in big trouble. That's been ironed out a bit now and we look alot more solid.
