I'm with you on the positive messages - but I disagree with the concept that the current team with some further additions today or tomorrow isn't good enough for a promotion push. I'd agree that automatic is a stretch, but 10th upwards will keep us in with a shout.
I've seen so much chod over the last 40 years and this team isn't chod. In fact, it's quite an exciting group of players - many with skill, some with huge potential and a smattering of experience thrown in. We're just a bit light in numbers that's all.

That is interesting. Seems like he wasn't offered a new deal, but equally didn't want one. He must be closer to his family now - assuming they live in the Teeside area somewhere.

I was just about to post very similar. Suggests he wants to be in the North East of England which is a good thing.

I also suspect from that interview that he’s looking to wind down to retirement - see out his 2 years here and pass on to a younger coach.
 
One thing’s for sure, from what I’ve read, he’ll do his utmost to progress the club. He is qualified to do it and a local man and has a reputation for attacking, attractive football and developing young players.
We can’t ask for more than that.
No matter who else ‘could’ have been appointed, there’s absolutely nothing guaranteed in football and this guy stands as good a chance of success as anyone.

Who's this dopey twat? Does he understand that the supporters don't appoint the manager, they have no say, or control over who is appointed, of course, we could all go out punching horses and shouting at shopfronts, making a national disgrace of ourselves, or be happy with owners that violate human beings and human rights, but then, that's not the style of typical Sunderland supporters, we'll leave that to the manky mags up the road.
