Mowbray confirmed

I don't particularly rate Mogga but I think he'd do a competent job in a stable club.

The problem is we quite clearly aren't. Costs cut to the bone across all areas, a paper thin squad filled with inexperience. No good will at all from the fans and arguably the players, who are not happy with losing Neil and how he was treated.

The odds are stacked against him in every way.

The way this whole situation has arose is concrete evidence of cracks being papered over, and Neil's ability to get more out of less.
Costa have gone up over the last year or so. There certainly hasn't been the cuts like we seen under Donald and co.
I think you're going over the top a tad about the state of the club

Think the biggest factors of promotion last season were Batth, Pritchard and Stewart.

Who were already at the club before Neil.

Yes he galvanised the squad to a certain extent but we have lost an ex Preston and Norwich manager who is only ever going to be championship level to Stoke , and gained an ex Blackburn and Boro manager.
Batth didn't play that many games for us. Wright's form under Neil was a much bigger factor. And that of Evans.

And Jack Clarke had a big impact.

And don't forget Nathan Broadhead.

He looks happy to be here. I think he'll do well for us without setting the world on fire. Consolidate in the league.

That will do for me.

Noticed a few comments from Blackburn fans from that forum thread someone put up which said if he'd left after 3 years people would have been happier with him, but they didn't kick on after stabilising in the league. That's probably the lesson for us. If he does what we all expect and makes us a solid team in this league, the club will have to realise when it's time to kick on and expect promotion and progress and replace him then. And given that the last manager to be here more than 3 years was Peter Reid the chances of him going past that milestone with us are pretty f***ing slim.

Of course that may be governed by the players he could access as well as his ability

For me at the end of the day it is probably a sensible appointment.
We desperately need to stay up and consolidate for a season or two and hopefully TM brings the experience and knowledge we need to do that and a two year deal sounds about right.
Appointing a young and up and coming manager could be a risk not worth taking at the moment.
