What 'gets' to you on screen? Violence, gore, cruelty?

I have to admit it's usually animals/deaths that get to me. I can no longer watch the ending of Kes as I was a total mess the first time, aged 14, at school, just before lunch. So I watch it to a particular point and stop. Tragic, I know.

Honourable mentions for the hobbling scene in Misery and the force feeding torture scene in The Cook The Thief, His Wife and Her Lover...ughh.

I cannot watch animals attack and eat other animals...unless a snake is on the receiving end.

Our lass was not happy when the doggy bit it at the start of John Wick.

Personally struggle with anything to do with Krugger. I have heard of films that I would never watch nor understand why anyone would.

Well I had difficulty getting past the John Wick scene and gave up not long after! Did it get any better? The dog was acting Keanu off the screen I thought.

The bit in Saving Private Ryan when Private Mellish gets stabbed really slowly.

I struggled through that bit. I think I forced myself to watch it again. Still pretty awful though.

For some reason the bully taking the kids brace out of his mouth in A Monster Calls has stuck with me a bit. I think I need to watch the rest of that film as I want to see the conclusion.

Joe Pesci's characters death in Casino.
Him and his brother are beaten to a pulp and buried alive in a cornfield... grim viewing.

Funnily enough I re-watched Casino the other night, and had totally forgot how gruesome that scene is.

Reservoir Dogs ear cutting scene, more in anticipation of it happening than it being particularly horrible when it happens. I'm sure I've watched much more gory and violent things both at the cinema and on TV.
Yes I know what you mean. It's so much worse when the scene is longer. I remember feeling ill at the cinema watching that.

Usually cruelty is what gets me...couple of scenes in Dead Man's Shoes I find difficult to watch (where Anthony is getting abused).
