Most Heartbreaking Goals Conceded

Ameobi, Cascarino, Brighton's equaliser at RP 1981. Benteke this season, West Ham's winner this season, Southampton's equaliser last season. In fact every equaliser or winner against us is heartbreaking, last minute or not

9th May 1987 Sunderland 2-3Barnsley put us into relegation play offs winning 2 nil and missed a penna .
Jim feckin Dobbin

FA Cup 4th round January 1984 at home to Birmingham. 1-0 up with about 5 mins to go lost 2-1. Think Harford may have scored for them, can remember it being foggy as fuck and just hearing and catching glimpses of Birmingham Zulus :D My first taste of us snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
It was indeed.

All of mine have already been mentioned but in hindsight the one against Man Utd in the semi final makes me laugh. We'd just scored so I thought I'd record the celebrations. The video is about 50 seconds of everybody singing then all you hear is my dad to my right scream 'NO!!!!!!', cue silence then a git massive roar . It always reminds me of that bit on Mike Bassett where he's like 'Macca!!! Macca they're gonna score!!!.....*cheering off camera*.....good goal, Poland ' I'd upload the video if I knew how.

Play offs v Gillingham.

Most angry goals conceded was a FA Cup tie v Brum at Roker. Harford n Gayle. Nearest Ive ever come to being a proactive hoolie. Fuckin fuming I was. They nivver had a sniff the lashed two in after 85 mins iirc. Was some angry people in the Roker that day.

This the ***** celebrated as if they had win the league. Still didn't help them in the end though
I was in the bog when he scored :(

Knew it was them who scored ! Probably saved the coppers some hassle after !

Yep I thought of this straight away.
From memory it should of been chalked off I'm sure poom was fouled

And Neil Shipperly practically sat on Poom. Remember when the ball went in at first I didn't even consider it would be allowed, I automatically thought it would be chalked off due to the ridiculously obvious foul. One of the very, very rare times I feel we can legitimately blame a referee for our failures.

Made it even worse when four weeks later England went out the Euros after having a similar goal disallowed. Felt cursed.

Adam Johnson scoring for Man City in the 90th minute at the SoL in about 2010? We'd taken an early lead through Jones and had defended like heroes ever since. We'd been on a long winless run at the time.

A proper kick in the knackers that.

A similar game was a year earlier against Spurs. Richardson gave us a 1-0 lead after about 90 seconds and I think Robbie Keane equalised in the 89th minute.
Them two games I was most gutted about.

I'd already won £50 on a goal-den goal thing for Kenwyne scoring so put £25 on us to hold it at 1-0 and would have had just over 100 for it only to get beat.
Then with Richardson I put on 1-0 and Richardson to score first before the match and was going to win £280 back and was really getting myself excited because to a 17 year old that's a shit load of money, only for Robbie f***ing Keane to pop up and leave me absolutely distraught!

Most have been mentioned.

Benteke this year was rank, and so predictable.

This game springs to mind.

Relegation battle with Luton in front of 17,000 whilst the mags were running away with promotion.

Scored with 2 mins to go. Then Luton equalise in last minute. Think it was a corner that went straight in?

Was the first time I'd seen me dad angry . He stood up, took his flat cap off and threw it on the floor!

Stayed up by skin of our teeth. These youngins wetting their pants these days know nowt.

Chucking 2 goals away at Old Trafford in 2003, we were 1 up nearly the whole game. The 2nd was shit :(

Ryan Taylor at the SOL
Fellaini at Everton in the FA Cup (or was it Cahill? It's always bloody Cahill)
Suarez vs England

Every goal we conceded in the play off final against charlton
This for me. Should have won that game by a couple of clear goals tbh

New years Day. McCann scored a fluke in the first few minutes right in front of where I was sat (got a freebie ticket through someone at work)

Far too many for us over the years. The most heartbreaking ones usually involve us getting an equaliser late on, only for the other team to score with the last kick of the game.

Everton 2 - 3 Liverpool (2001)

We were 2-1 down and they got a pen. Fowler missed it and then we got given one down the other end with 10 mins to go which David Unsworth scored. Gary McAllister then scored a 45 yard freekick in the fourth minute of injury time. To make things worse, they had 10 men . Our penalty is at 2:40.

Everton 3 - 4 Man United (2004)

0-3 down in the first half. Got it back to 3-3 on 75 minutes, only for van Nistelrooy to win it for them with a minute remaining. Their 4th is at 22:30.

Everton 2 - 3 Aston Villa (2008)

Another painful one was Ashley Young when Villa were a decent side back in 2008. Lescott equalised in the 90th minute for us to make it 2-2, and then from the kick off Young scored with the last kick of the game.

Bournemouth 3 - 3 Everton (2016)

If you listen to Motson's commentary he even says that the Barkley goal was in the 95th minute and there was 5 minutes added time. The fact that fans spilled on to the pitch should have only delayed the restart of the game, not added a further 3 minutes on. Stanislas scored in the 98th minute. Watch from 4:30.

That Bournemouth goal still haunts me, I needed Everton to hold out for almost a grand.

One of the most heartbreaking for me was Vaughan's own goal in the FA cup replay against Everton. We were hardly in the game but at 1-0 anything could happen, when that went in I knew the FA cup dream and wembley was all over
