Tell him he's back in the team for The Ashes if he does 5 things:

1) Issue a full public apology to Andrew Strauss, the team, the ECB, Andy Flower and the fans.

2) Go on the England Lions tour in the winter

3) Does not play any part in the IPL

4) Scores around 1,000 runs in county cricket by the end of May next season

5) Accepts that one more disciplinary issue and he'll never play for this country again

Tidied

I hope we tell him to fuck off, I never want to see him in an England shirt again.

TBH, as a more general point, I'm getting sick of these contrived residency qualified players. I don't want to sound all Alf Garnett but I'd love to go back to a proper English 11.

The chairman of the ECB said that they were taking steps to extend the qualification period to 7 years, except for the small nations like Ireland and Scotland.

This. Embarrassing having Dernbach, Trott and Morgan win us the game yesterday (plus Kieswetter).

Get 11 English lads playing and if we lose so be it.

There's a reason why we're known as NATO in certain circles.

And I wholeheartedly agree with getting rid of Trott, Kieswetter etc.

Its ironic that these lads decided on England due to the SA quota system making it difficult for them to play for their country and now there are English lads finding it difficult to get in due to our selection policy allowing South Africans to play for us.

If it was a couple of isolated cases or theyd been here long enough to actually speak with an English accent then fair enough but it is becoming silly now.

The ECB need to have a think about it because talented young Englishmen could become very disillusioned.

Yep and the whole point of the England side is to instil national pride. I don't get any when I see a mercenary like Trott score a 100 but on the flip side watching Bairstow smash it about in the last test was great.

Also its a shame we don't get to see how Ireland get on with Morgan in the side. Hopefully Boyd Rankin doesn't jump ship next for the sake of playing a couple of ODIs for England.

I'll go along with this.
Whether it's cricket or any other sport you should be eligible for a maximum of two countries:-
1. Your place of birth
2. The counrty that is your father's nationality.

All this residency qualification crap is just that.

Why just father's? And what if you are born in one country to parents of that nationality, but move to England when very young? If we'd stopped that then Peter Bonetti would never have been able to play in that World Cup game...

The time more than anything. We've just lost our opening captain, it'd have been nice to be able to bring an opener into a settled environment. As it stands we don't know our number 6 from one game to the next.

As for Kevin, he has ability to be a legend of cricket and instead he's buggered it up with stupid media shite, Cricket fans and record books will miss him.
