Coventry fans still saying we are soft as shite and embarrassing.

Tell that to the kid who had his head severely cut by a bottle from above

Whilst they're tough nuts. They made my 14 year old daughter scared because of the objects they were throwing.
Hard. As. Fuck.

Indeed. Terrified hundreds of kids, then ran back to their busses like rats when confronted by grown ups. Real hard arseholes

Someone in the club has totally fucked up here. They should never be anyone in those front blocks.

still don't get this argument. if i wanted to, i could throw something from row 20 and get it over the front of the stand.

for me, the police just need to start doing their job properly. it was said that we had this super 360 HD all-seeing CCTV that covered the whole of the north upper?

get some prosecutions in against those coventry fans, and plaster their names all over the away end concourse with a big sign saying 'throw something over the stand and we will find you, and you will go to court. just ask these lads...' - or something to that effect.

According to some on here the bottles were coming from further back.

Feed back from the club was Coventry fans did it during goal celebrations and when bunching together so it was difficult to identify the individuals. I know they had issues like this with man utd fans as they all wear black.

Must be hard as nails to throw bottles and shit at women and bairns...

They've laughed that off on their forum saying it's bullshit they targeted kids and women. They seem a nice bunch.

.

its never going to be able to be eliminated 100%. same as someone could run up and lamp you in the street, they might get away with it.

expecting the club to have installed a giant net, that probably needs planning permission and will costs £1000's, needing cranes and shit to get inside the ground, all that to be done in 2 weeks, is a bit disproportionate.

it would be cheaper and more effective to just employ 50 more stewards and put 10 on each set of stairs all during the game

Let’s hope there’s no trouble on Saturday. I have a feeling there will be, nowhere near as bad as Coventry though.
I don’t see why people think it will be the same tomorrow. Our tickets sold out in a day to core support, not peripheral idiots who turned up at Wembley.

A point illustrated by our Monday game with Coventry when they brought just over 1,000. Good, friendly atmosphere and no bother outside the ground.

Be different at the Coliseum....your fans will be on ya big day out....

A valid point that failing to put up thousands of pounds worth of nets will render the club liable?

How many other football clubs net in the away supporters?

How small would the mesh have to be to prevent coins thrown?

How would the supporters, at the back of the stand, be able to see the far goal?

Would they sue the club for having a 'restricted view'?

The club would have to ask permission, to erect netting, and it may not even be within league rules.

What this 'lady' is doing is finding a cause she can climb on, for her own benefit, despite it not concerning her as she won't be at the stadium, wasn't there for Coventry and probably hasn't been this season.

The club can only take reasonable precautions as demanded by their safety certificate. They have large 'prohibited items' signs outside the away end, they conduct searches and employ the agreed number of stewards and police. The police are paid to protect the public, inside and outside the ground, and accept that responsibility.

However, it's impossible to totally guarantee people's safety at a football match and writing open letters to the press and personally 'cautioning the club' smacks of blatant attention seeking.

The club are liable regardless
Following recent incidents any further injury will be viewed as negligent
Blatant attention seeking  that tired old trope

"Stadium of Liars"

I might be wrong but their argument seems to be "SAFC fans said really nasty things about us and our club legends so we had a right to throw objects at people who couldn't defend themselves, it doesn't matter if it was kids or the elderly. They deserved to be injured."

Don't think any Coventry City fans are on this, but they're obviously reading this thread. If any of you can correct me on your forum that would be fantastic. Or is that the general consensus?

Shit club. No ground.

Have they done that?

Seems they think because we got beat we’re bitter and making stuff up. Well in the last few years we have been experts in getting beat, I've never heard of such wide spread bother attached to away fans throwing objects.

Have they done that?
No chance they’ll do that, most likely just move the away fans after next season.
