Reckon six so far, I generally go for the ones with icing on. Was given a cooplands the bakers brandy mince pie to try, have to admit turned me nose up a bit as don’t usually like their stuff, but it was the best I’ve had so far.
Did some work in manor bakeries in Barnsley earlier in the year, it’s the main mr Kipling plant in uk and was on the Greg Wallace food factory thing a while back. They make mince pies for all main supermarkets. Guy there told me they each have their own recipes so are all different, he reckoned the Aldi one actually had the best quality if ingredients, with m and a second.

Some would call that controversibut that's how me mam made them when I was a kid. No pastry lid, just icing. I think a full pastry lid can make them too pastry heavy. A lattice would be a good compromise
