Milan Aleksic - Confirmed

Would make no sense at all sending him out on loan to a pub league like that

Young lad in a new country takes time to adapt some won’t

Wonder how many on here would take leaving Sunderland to work in Serbia like a duck to water
I imagine that half on here haven’t ever left Sunderland for longer than a weeks break in Benidorm tbh :D

Seen people mention Championship teams but who in their right mind is going to play him in the Championship?

We literally played a striker (Mayenda) in midfield over him last season...

Such a strange one. Signed with supposed massive potential, hardly kicked a ball for us but on the bench every week. Never played for the u21’s then linked with a move back home. We’ve had a few shite foreign signings mind.

Not writing him off though, especially with what’s happened with Mayenda.

It's a good move I think, European football and a league thats not much worse than scotland.

The lad needs to play football.

Was bought to develop into a championship player.

It’s just unlucky for him in a way we went up, may have pushed on in the championship but clearly not Pl standard so either a loan which I’d be happy with or perm switch.

Yeah exactly this for me.

The lad has some ability and we have seen it in flashes. But age/ experience/ struggling to get upto speed with the language and culture etc meant he was wrapped in cotton wool last year and probably intended to be used more this season.

The premier league is a huge leap up again and he's some way off that level. If we see a future for him at the club he should stay in the English leagues with a loan, but going back abroad indicates we maybe cutting our losses.

Loan him to one of the newly promoted teams/a play off place chaser in the Championship. But don't sell him yet.

We've no idea where we'll be in a seasons time. Selling him could be premature.

I thought he showed little flashes. Nice touches, quick feet and quick thinking.

Mainly interspersed with basic errors.

Doesn't mean he'll make it here. He's just a bairn, loan him out and then reassess next summer, depending on how he's done and which league we find ourselves in.

No player can afford to make basic errors in the PL so there is no way he will be in the first team this season. Loaning is the obvious option, and if he is struggling to settle in this country a loan back there makes a lot of sense.

Championship clubs loan plenty players from under 21 football. He played a few games at that level for us and was streets ahead . Either Scotland maybe hibs , top of league one or newly promoted Championship team for me . He needs a run of games to show what he can do .

Not sure that "decent in spells" will be particularly high on the list of qualities championship clubs are looking for in a loan signing.

Course it will, there's plenty to work with. Fuck me championship clubs loan mason Burstow im sure aleksic will be good.
Did he

Expect a load of Championship teams to come in for him any time now then

Yes he did. Thats my opinion obviously. But im always right

Any news on Milan heading out on loan...canot really say he was ready for the championship but did play out of position near the end of the season.. not sure le bris rates him so can imagine he will be sent out on loan but would like to see him tested in the championship in his proper position. Payed £3mil for him and he was highly rated and may just need game time to see how he does elsewhere. Still just 19
