He did, but he can't have been impressed by what he saw. Kid has talent, no doubt, but was like watching a competition winner in how he played. Positionally all over the shop, some terrible set pieces and questionable decision making. Time on his side of course, but I'd rather he was doing his learning elsewhere.
If you compare to Talbi... He started slow, and for a while, kept it pretty simple. He rarely ran at players or gave the ball away, but he didnt take risks either. He sort of slowed himself down til he found his feet and gained osme confidence. Angulo and Ta Bi still seem to expect to just knock the ball 10 yards and run round the full back. Their bag of tricks isn't cutting it. They're both capable, but they're miles off the required level right now.
I agree with you on the clubs stance, at least their initial stance. Would be a hell of a sharp improvement curve if he got there soon.
