Mignolet

Decent keeper and was also student. He did a degree in economics or something like that during his playing career.

The bairn liked him and her brother went to a signing and got him to write a birthday card to her. She was made up 😁

Seem to recall that the first thing he asked upon the move was where he could finish his degree.

Brave keeper, good at 1 on 1, penalties and an excellent shot stopper.

Found this snippet. What happened here?

On 14 December 2014, Mignolet's run of 53 consecutive Premier League starts came to an end as he was replaced by Brad Jones in the starting 11 against Manchester United, with Brendan Rodgers saying Mignolet would be dropped for an "indefinite period".
He made a couple of howlers at Liverpool and he was pushed way down the pecking order.

Great keeper for us and a great song 🙂

IIRC was signed by Bruce as a random back up to Craig Gordon(?) but pretty much played the entire season and was class. Speaks about 5 languages too
Yeah, Gordon broke his arm the previous season, had a metal plate fitted and returned in unbelievable form. However his arm snapped again as soon as the plate was removed at the end of the season and he missed all pre-season and the start of the new season, hence why we were in the market for another keeper. Gordon came back into the team around November but got injured again in February and never played for us again bar a random token appearance towards the end of the following season. As I said earlier, he was decent enough but the turning point was getting his face smashed in the following season and returning with the protective mask - he was incredible from that point onwards.

We signed him to replace Fulop who left to become number 1 at Ipswich under Keane. We had so many good keepers during that time - Gordon, Fulop, Mignolet, Mannone, Pantilimon, Pickford. Followed by Steele, Ruiter and Camp...

I think it was his positioning, he didn't seem to have a clue where he was even before the ball was kicked.
I was standing behind the goal, couldn't believe it when it floated in, seemed like he waved it away thinking it was going to sail over, your probably right, soft goal was raging at the time marra.
