Seen this a few weeks ago. Absolute monster of a woman.

Guilty.

However I lean towards her being to cope with him and dealing with a bad situation terribly than being straight up evil.

I'm not so sure. A lot has been written that she wanted the attention that resulted from his suicide.

Just because it's written doesn't make it so, we have a sensational media, and the prosecution's job is to put the worst spin on things.

Regardless, she was certainly guilty.

Well, aye.

Clearly a troubled girl herself but she knew exactly what she was doing (IMO)

One of the most disturbing things I've read that, he obviously put so much trust into her. Blantantly obvious that he didn't want to go through with it. Sickening

Don't know her, didn't know him, didn't click the link, didn't read the texts, don't really care - why anyone would want to purposely upset themselves by reading the texts is not something I understand

Do you purposely set out to upset yourself by reading things you know are distasteful ? If so, you may wish to check out https://forums.psychcentral.com/self-injury/93991-emotional-self-injury.html

Thanks for the advice, I appreciate you taking the time to find a Batman meme suitable to illustrate your point

That's quite alright.
I hope the image of someone that has recently died didn't upset you?

edit - or even worse, this might be the first you've heard of it as you appear to live in a bubble.

Thanks very much for your further contribution to this discussion and for your baseless assumptions about my living arrangements and knowledge of current affairs. If I require any further bubble related information I'll know who to ask.

The verdict stunned many legal specialists because suicide is generally considered, legally, to result from a person’s free will.

Daniel Medwed, a law professor at Northeastern University, said the decision surprised him because the manslaughter charge seemed “a stretch” to begin with. Because Ms. Carter was not at the scene, and Mr. Roy ultimately acted alone, he said, it was difficult to prove she “caused” the death.

Ms. Gertner of Harvard said that likely grounds for appeal would be that the verdict had “extended the law of involuntary manslaughter to an arena into which it hasn’t been extended before — the notion of liability with respect to a suicide for someone who failed to act, who wasn’t present, who didn’t provide the instrumentalities for the suicide and the concept of a failure to intervene are all unique and that’s what would be litigated.”

That's akin to saying Charles Manson wasn't guilty because he wasn't at the scene of the crime and didn't actually kill anyone. Or Hitler, or something. She has clearly helped to cause his death. I imagine the appeals process will go on for years.
