Michael Vaughan

Dont know how much weight producing a couple of witnesses who claim they can remember something that was said 12 years ago, and said nothing about it since. Could actually be counterproductive to the case, arguing that if racism was as widespread as is being claimed, how can these individuals remember one specific comment from more than a decade ago.

So you're response to an accusation, that has already been corroborated my someone else, is to say they both made it up and the racism isn't real at all (despite Yorkshire already confirming many of the aspects of the story)?

What are you even grasping at these straws for? Like, what are you gaining from this?

Do you think if you were racially abused by an England captain you'd remember it? Of course you.

The only good thing to come out of this whole sorry saga.
It’s quite sad in a way though. It’s taken this saga to finally bring him to account, in spite of the fact he’s spouted coded racist stuff on Twitter for years. When you think about the people who have to work with Vaughan in a broadcasting capacity, people like ERB, I wonder how they have felt reading his shite whilst at the same time speaking publicly about discrimination they’ve endured throughout their lives.

I can’t believe I am going to write this but here goes

I actually don’t think he means badly. I just think

1) he’s a bit f***ing stupid. He probably has no idea of the impact of what he says
2) he jumps on bandwagons (“banter” in person, and stupid social media stuff to make himself relevant)

maybe I’m being way too nice to him.

note: to be clear, he’s an absolute weapon.

Pepperidge Farm remembers.
He claims his innocence but the catalougue of tweets with thinly vieled hints in them are hardly likely to convince anyone of his innocence. They build up a picture of his views and opinions that he will find difficult to distance himself from. Only last week he was defending a South African who refused to take the knee. Whatever your opinion on that gesture, defending someone for not supporting an anti racism campaign is not the best look when you are simultaneously trying to defend yourself against racism allegations.

I think hes toast and will end up on GB news with like minded individuals and the rest of us can happily forget all about him.

He's ruined the legacy of the 2005 Ashes for me.

Haven't you just described all racists? It's almost always born out of ignorance and a desire to fit it/ create an 'other' from one's own identity.

The man supported trump, is anti-immigration, and pretty extremely right-wing based on his views. Despite working and playing with a huge range of backgrounds over the years he's clearly learnt nowt from the experience. He only has himself to blame for this current situation.

I think in recent years he's tried to be like the Boycott of his generation,he just looks and acts like a smug prick.
