Michael Bridges

Whee cares
This 100%.
Seems to be an almost daily thread on Bridges

Always happy to chime in on them and repeat myself as well. Great player, excellent pundit / co-commentator. He does a lot of the co-commentary for the broadcasters used in Australia. He clearly has warmth towards Sunderland as a club, for its supporters and its current team. But he isn’t excitable or overly partisan towards any team he’s covering; which is kind of his job and what makes him good.

Don't reference Australia. The OP gets a right strop on.

When he’d already broken into trendiest team for us, he’d still go and watch his mates play for the U18s at the Charlie Hurley Centre. Signed every autograph going and was genuinely thrilled people wanted his autograph.

Absolutely top bloke to a 6 year old howdy. Can do no wrong on my eyes. Couldn’t give a hoot whichever team he supports.

Always thought he was above his station when he made a phonecall hand signal to Peter Reid and the directors -after scoring a goal. Think he wanted a transfer?

Somebody will know better about that......

That was aimed at his mag uncle who was there watching him. Does go to show tho how easily things can be twisted or misinterpreted to make players look bad.

Bridges was from North of the Tyne originally, he played for us for a few years, then our fans abused him when he went to Leeds.

Why some of our fans think every ex player should show some sort of misguided allegiance to us as an ex employer is way beyond me.

OP should move on , just like Bridges has.

He gave me a pair of his boots outside the Charlie Hurley Centre whilst waiting for autographs when I was a kid. Felt like he gave me a million pounds at the time. Think they are still in my dad’s loft. Regardless of his affiliation to us I will always like and be grateful to him for that.
