Even if we were to build a hotel how are we going to fill it?

Unless I'm mistaken we are still only getting one international game a year for the foreseeable future. Combining that with a couple of music concerts and we are talking 3 times a year when it is likely to be busy. I can't see that attracting a hotel firm to run it
Chester doesn’t have an abundance of hotels I’d expect it would do well to be honest with its proximity to the A1.

I certainly feel like I’d be more likely to attend more than one day of a CC game if there was a decent hotel close by. At the moment it’s a matter of round the houses on public transport to see 3/4 of a days play.

I understand that they’ve plans to run cricket schools and need on site accommodation. Plus there is a shortage of hotel beds in Co Durham generally. The Council are supporting the development to assist their tourism effort.

No doubt all will be revealed later.

aye nearest hotel is either the Castle or the holiday inn at washington services, nothing at all in chester le street, i think it would be used, maybe a bigger conference space too, although was in chester le street last week before the yorkshire game and the place is looking a bit scruffy i thought

Hotels no longer happening and James Franklins on the way back to coach first team as he’s ‘learnt from his mistakes’. Not sure were Ryan Campbells going, farcical decision by the club.

I made all that up.

Bostock suggested on commentary of the Glamorgan game that it’ll be a ‘Hilton DoubleTree’ hotel which made me assume they’ve already struck a deal.

Regarding filling it, the majority of the year it’ll be used by people away on business I’d imagine and they’ll host meetings and conferences there. Lots of non-cricket related uses basically.

maybe the members won't be getting kicked out every other week and shuffled elsewhere due to events going on.

Any updates from those in attendance?
The plans look impressive. It will sit in the car parking area opposite the media centre. Plans to extend two tier stand from the current CD stand. 910 new seats in front of the hotel although these will be replacing some existing seats and some will be unavailable due to sight screen. New corporate hospitality facilities. Car parking underneath. Good quality hotel (4*) Hilton Garden. The drawings show a finished ground - at the moment our stadium looks half built. Generally positive response from members present.
Had to snigger at the introduction where were told that the club wanted to ensure members were briefed before the general public. Members forum started at 6pm in the lounge. Public consultation meeting commenced 6.30 next door 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I took a couple of photos of the proposed finished article but have no idea how I can post them on here. Can anyone give me a clue?

They had similar plans around 2008 at a members forum at the rainton arena, sure I have the brochure from the night somewhere in the house. Hopefully they come to fruition this time
