Melvin Bard - (transfer rumour)

worked for forest

I think the step is so huge you have to just about start again (with the odd exception)
Well start again with the youth knows no fear approach we had in the championship but with higher quality players with more senior experience . We'll upgrade on the veterans as well . Stand by for a couple of bigger names on free or final year later in the window i reckon once we get the young uns gelled into the current retained players

I'd like that to be true. As much as I've enjoyed him being in our team I've equally disliked him being injured regularly. Same with Alese but on a much bigger injury to playing well ratio.
We haven't or can't afford a big squad in this league with players on big Premier wages, we need to try and find players who aren't as injury prone.
Cirkin played in 36 league games in 2024-25, starting 30 and coming on as a sub in 6 games. So he missed 10 games with a seemingly quite serious injury to his wrist. Its not like he's had back-to-back ACL injuries

He looked well off the pace and the top of his game for a large part of the season though. You can look at stats for appearances but expanding on them a little with performances puts a lot of context on not it.

The issue was fitness and injury, not form. The point being that Cirkin was available (and selected) for the vast majority of last season.

It may be that Cirkin can be criticised for his form and some people may want to conclude that he should be transferred out because he doesn't have the talent to step up to the Premier League. However, it would be wrong to think that his injury record is a reason for wanting to transfer him.

It also surprises me that people don't think that other clubs would do their due diligence on a player's injury record. If we don't want a player because he is a crock, why would any club want to take on the liability such a player represents ?

‘Measure For Measure’ we have recruited much better.

I fear it would have been a sad ‘Winter’s Tale’ if we had gone for him in January.
