Absolutely. If young players are being recruited specifically (en masse) to play first team football then that’s the level and standard they’re expected to deliver at. It’s not Sunday league Russell Foster football or the U23s.

I don’t blame the player. It’s not his fault. The coaches and recruiters should take the responsibility. Those two chances Mayenda spurned over the last two shouldn’t have been an issue because he should have been withdrawn earlier in both fixtures. That’s on the head coach.

He's scored in one league game all season I believe so debatable whether he will actually score next week

I think he's looked better on the right (apart from today) but has recently put in a bit of quality from the left in terms of crosses. In terms of overall game on either sides he's a bit like Ba in that you never quite know what you're going to get in terms of beating a man, delivery, dribbling or if he ball will just bounce off him or he's miss control it. He's never going to be a winger, he's just not good enough.

As a striker earlier in the season and a couple of times last season he showed he had some traits to his game where he could maybe be effective. Last season he looked ridiculously raw and horrendous when presented with a chance in front of goal, whereas early this season he showed some composure. But in recent games that composure has absolutely deserted him again.

I generally prefer him to Connolly in our system as he's more dynamic, but today I was more than happy to see him replaced. Its a difficult one but I think he needs a run of games up front and we need someone better right now than him.
 
You simply can’t defend that miss today with his age.
He either needs some proper finishing training or to be used only as a winger. As I’ve said earlier in the thread more than once, get someone like Defoe in to help as we simply can’t afford to miss those chances and miss out on the points.

Gives 100%. He is so lazy man, what are you watching? Compare him to say diallo in terms of effort and closing down/pressing - worlds apart.
 
Ive seen him play and i dont think he is ready for 1st team championship level. Especially on the wing. Needs a loan to play up front regularly.

He shouldnt have had as much game time as he has done out wide
