Marcus North England Selector

I've just been reading about it And if you look to his experience he's seems far and away the best candidate. So good luck to him.

But where now for Durham?

Wonder if he will be doing both jobs or this means Durham will be on the lookout for a new director of cricket, none of the articles seem to mention this.

North is understood to have a six-month notice period with Durham but the ECB wants him in place earlier and it is likely that an arrangement will be worked out

bearing in mind the previous selector stated 'to much travelling' as the reason for leaving, I think that points to the selector being a full time job. We'll need a new Director of Cricket. And soon!

It will be interesting to see who Durham have lined up as a replacement. There doesn't seem to be an obvious candidate within the club to promote into the role, even on a temporary basis.

Is there anyone around who has a knowledge of local NE and county cricket and would understand the need to develop local players?

What about:
Paul Collingwood
Dale Benkinstein
Graeme Onions

I'm not sure if they would be interested mind (I've got doubts about all of those). It's going to be interesting.
