Marcus North England Selector

Knight him

Maybe all parties agreed to simply walk away, after all, internal investigations cost money and take time and maybe they thought it wasn’t worth the hassle.

Possibly, McCullum was keen to trim the backroom staff anyway so this will have given him a great excuse.

interesting from The Guardian
The job is expected to change, however. Wright was not the head selector and had limited voting rights. North, by contrast, is expected to have the final say on squads in a position more akin to Ed Smith’s selector role from 2018 to 2021.

Mixed feelings upon North 's departure. Promotion was quickly countered by relegation and importing players,as was his method, rather than developing through the Academy cannot be successful long term. However, as with any key post, the worry is about the quality of the successor. I'd be happy with the current provision with Benks in overall control. I'd have no objection with Colly returning as part of the team, perhaps with responsibility as fielding coach.

Must be a good wage if he has left his role at Durham. What a job! Tour the country, stay in nice hotels, expenses and all you do is sit and watch cricket....... surely there has to be more to it than that????!
