He's supposed to be pro Sunderland though and his attitude at times toward the club is off. He should be bigging us up and not telling all and sundry that he thinks our best player should leave.

Marco was a good, exciting player when he played for us. I remember being really disappointed when he left for Crystal Palace.
I know that people of my age still think of him as younger fans think of SKP.
But in hindsight, he was here 4 years of an almost 20 year career. He isn't North East born, he's a midlander. He played almost as many games for Northampton as he played for us.
He played more games for Derby and has more of an affinity with Derby County than he does with us.
We were just one step in his career.
We probably shouldn't listen too closely to what he says, or care.

Absolute rubbish. He doesn't have more of an affinity with derby at all. Sunderland is the team he aligns to most as he's said several times. Including when he served me breakfast once.
