I'm amazed that this consortium is still looking to buy at the stated price.
Football is heading into a great unknown and would be a big negotiating lever for them to drive the price down and a hard bargain (same as Ashley would of being doing if he was looking to buy) and also knowing that Ashley's retail empire will be taking a big hit so will be after some liquidity.

unless they are getting a big bargain with loads of staged payment depending on xyz can't see it going through at the figures stated

the onluy curiosity is staveley having to borrow money for her share..doesnt make her much of a player if she cant find £30m...
yet the others..who actually have cash..are still letting her in..

What world class players will move there? They won’t be to attract world class players ffs. They won’t want to live in Newcastle for a start.

I’m glad someone else has seen sense-the league is so saturated now. I think it’ll be similar to what Wolves have done.
I didn't see they will sign them, I am saying they have the spending power to try and get them.

Don't just think that because they are based in the N/E, Top, top players won't want to go there, that is complete bollocks.

I don't know anything about the deal, and I'm not that arsed either way of I'm honest....

Just when you have a box you don't get told the ins and outs of the club, I imagine he's just being told this by someone else trying to look like they are in the know....

Absolutely mate, which is why I said don’t shoot messenger.

I posted it on here as it sounds quite believable, apart from Stavely doing the running of the club, I don’t think she’d have a clue. I can well believe that Ashley will still be involved somewhat with the club, ie, keeping the sponsorship, sports direct logos etc for the time being.

TBF they will be able to have a go at attracting anyone they want as money / wages won't be an issue.

You can sponsor stadiums and all sorts to get around FFP.

If this was a ''money no object' type thing, they wouldn't be going in as part of a consortium and bothering with loans. From what I've read, there is actually general confusion about who is really involved.

This will likely make them better than they are (no longer a yo-yo club), but they aren't heading for Man City status.

Caulkin replied to a tweet saying the last time he spoke to Staveley she promised 100 million over two transfer windows on improving the squad.

Less money than Ashley put in, They'll be calling for the Saudis out in no time.

Ashley’s nett spend over 13 years was barely over zero. Don’t let facts get in the way.

They don't understand net spend here mate. They fail to realise if you sell a player for 4m and buy the same position for 5m you have spent little and barely strengthened.

But you would have strengthened still. Liverpool sold Coutinho for £140m and that money is said to have enabled the signings of Allison and Van Dijk for almost exactly that amount. Did they strengthen, despite a negligible net spend?

all that hate in football and out of football for Mike ‘zero hour contract’ Ashley, yet not one criticism of the potential new owner Crown Prince ‘no woman’s rights and public executions’ Mohammed.

“Significant investment” is more likely to be a Villa or Wolves style splurge IMO. Still exciting for their fans and I have no doubt they will be much better off than they are under Ashley in terms of the player they sign but if they think they are going to be spending £300m on players like Neymar then .

It was laugh a minute whilst they were owned by Ashley so I’m upset about that but not as upset as I am when I think we are owned by a bloke who doesn’t seem to have two pennies to rub together and who looks like he’s going to do anything he can to hold onto the club now IMO.

...and the game has moved on from 13 years ago.

13 years ago, World class strikers like Torres were 30 million quid, Ashley spent 40 last window on an absolute donkey.

You can only compare recent seasons, not just ones to suit your agenda. He has put in cash whether you want to accept it or deny it. You lot seem to have a weird fascination with the need to spend much more than you retain. It's bizzare, look where it got us.

The past is the past. The future has hope for Newcastle. That is all most earnest supporters want of any club.
